As far as I know I'm the only other supercharged hundy with Doug thorley headers, ems mid pipes and ems catback. I would def do the silencer in the tailpipe. If you get mid pipes get them with both cats. I got them with no cats and later added resonators and don't think that did much at all. If EMS ever has a mid pipe sale I would end up doing them with double cats and ditch the mid pipes with resonators to see what that does to the sound.

I found that no matter how hard I tried the supercharger was causing leaks where the clamps were so I had a local shop just weld those areas instead of using the clamps. I'm curious if you'll have the same issue.

Baktash, you have any extra tailpipes with silencers on sale?

I am not a mechanic so I will ask my mechanic what he did. I plan on getting the EMS full headers when they come out and will put double cats based on your suggestion (I was originally only going to do one).

My catback exhaust came in today. I am not sure if it has the silencer on it (I tried changing the order after placing it but not sure if they were able to change it in time).

Received my exhaust with silencer yesterday:

Now just waiting for new starter so I can install Supercharger:

Cat back, mid, header,
Nice graph with solid info,
Great job Rob from 'mud.

I felt that kind of effort is at least worthy of a morning haiku. :grinpimp:
Seriously thanks for the effort Rob. Seems the more you test and dyno the more tempting it is to bite the bullet from the headers back...

A couple of plots to keep you interested

How in the world can anyone just swap out the muffler with numbers like these! This is going to have to be the next thing I do!

I don't think there has been a head to head test with EMS headers to see if they are better than the DT headers.

Rob has DT headers which is why they are the standard in what you see.

With the way these results have been shaping up, I would love to see what the ems headers will do when they become available.

I am holding out for the EMS headers - I am sure their performance gains will be much more than DT. This graph has convinced me that I will buy them. I wonder what type of performance gains I will get with having a supercharger.

One more graphic that would be nice is to overlay just plain stock, which I believe you did as part of your first testing.

Also, what configuration did you use for the mid-pipes ? 1/2/ no cats, etc?

this sale is great and i am tempted but the economics are confusing if you are thinking of buying the headers when they come out. if you factor in shipping twice vs all at once and the fact midpipes are included with the headers price on the ems website it is tricky to figure out whether the sale price would be cheaper than waiting for the headers.

i have suggested that to robred and he does not want to compare apples to oranges from different dyno tests.

you could look at a completely separate before and after stock to dt headers dyno test and then just look at the percentage difference and roughly correlate that to robred's new graphic.

If you are looking to do the EMSPowered headers once they're available, I'd recommend getting the EMSPowered cat-back exhaust right now once they're on sale and then the headers later once they're available.

Thanks for the info and the link to the EMS sale. I just ordered one to replace my stock muffler with a hole in it.

Pretty exited to install my mid pipes tonight. I'm half way through the job now, but I've come to a roadblock. Looks like my Lexus (and possibly Toyota) went to a screw on O2 sensor vs a flange style O2 sensor that the EMS midpipe is setup for, in my '06 LX470.

Kinda bummed that I won't finish it tonight.

Most straight forward fix is possibly a 'toyota O2 adapter' flange like this:

baktasht, got any suggestions? I was half hoping to find the adapter in the box but didn't turn up anything.

Excellent results, thanks Rob

For Colorado emissions wondering whether a single CAT or dual cat would be required. Anyone look into this. More interested in passing the sniffer test, haven't seen them inspect and they can't really because of my SKID plate :D
