How much would shipping be on a cat back to 96825 hawaii?
Looks like the cheapest shipping to Hawaii 96825 would be $153.60 via USPS for the Cat-back exhaust system. You can see instant shipping quotes too by adding the item(s) you want to your shopping cart and clicking the estimate shipping button.

Thank you. I'll check it out.

Baktasht you have a PM or two.

I just replied Rob. We will have that cat-back setup and mid-pipes built within the next 4-5 business days and shipping out to you for testing.

What is this about? Are you removing the 2nd O2 sensor from the exhaust stream to make read enough of a different signal from the first so that the check engine light is not trigger by cat inefficiency codes?

With single cat and no cat setups we setup the second O2 sensor flange that way to keep the ECU happy and avoid any check engine codes. With dual cats the O2 sensor flange gets welded flush directly to the pipe.

Any thoughts on just cutting my stock muffler out and replacing it with the magnaflow?

A lot of manufacturers do this on performance exhausts. Had one on my EvoIX

I just installed the EMS cat-back exhaust on my '06. I had a couple of questions

1) Is the seal between the mid-pipes and the cat-back pipes supposed to keep the two pipes from making flush contact with each other (the factory cat-back mated flush with the mid-pipes. Here the seal is thick and keeps the two pipes from mounting flush. There is about 1/32" gap--see picture.

2) How tight should I crank the collars for connecting the various pipes? Is there a ft/lbs spec, or other way to tell?

3) My kit had two 3" thick collars and two 2.5" collars. Clearly both of the 2.5" collars were needed, but I could only see use for one of the 3" inch ones... what am I missing?

4) The exhaust sounds great, though it does seem to have a droning like resonance right around 2k RPMS, when on light/mid gas. Is this normal? When I really step on it, the drone goes away, and similarly when I let off the gas the system gets very quiet.

So far I'm very much enjoying my new sports car pretensions :-)

i just removed everything cat back and put on a magnaflow 18" oval and had all new exhaust tubing bent to tuck it up between frame rails and with a higher exit in rear above lower edge of bumper.

very happy with it....went with 2.5 inch pipe from cats back.

are you sure it is droning or just that you can now hear your exhaust note at all speeds? I was always told that there is a difference between hearing an exhaust and a drone being caused by one. Hearing an exhaust note while cruising around is normal.

I was taught that droning is something entirely different that is usually not caused by muffler but how exhaust was attached and set up where the sound is being reverbarated along the entire system causing its own harmonics SEPARATE from the motor exhaust...and this DRONING can be like a howl or blowing air across coke bottle. If you have true droning sometimes relieving pressure on a hangar is enough to stop it....but is commonly the exhaust system is vibrating and causing its own tone in addition to the exhaust note.

others may have been told different but this is my understanding of the difference.

many times i have had guys complain about a drone and really it was just the exhaust note they heard while at a steady speed because they were not used to it....they wanted louder when they accelerated but did not account for louder all the other times too when they changed to more open setup. LOL

I am sure the exhaust and muffler experts will chime in...just my take on it.

The best way drone was described to me that made it click is that drone is that noise that is so loud it feels like it is in your head, whereas exhaust note sounds more as if it is coming from the rear of the truck and is much less interfering with conversations you may be having within the vehicle. Not sure if that makes sense to anyone but me. Despite my difficulty in explaining it, I do understand the differences well and I'd say my DT cat-back has a slight drone right around 2k rpm. Unless the EMS muffler is fundamentally different, I don't see why it would offer any different results in the drone category. Drone has as much to do with the angle of the tailpipe, to reverberations in the chassis to a variety of other factors. For example I wouldn't say it was noticeable on my truck until I moved the spare tire to a swing out carrier.

I was about to pull the trigger on these, but now I'm getting concerned. Does your set-up have the resonator? Anyone experiencing this?

Same "drone" on mine around 2K RPM. It is definitely a different type and less pleasant sound than at other engine speeds. The rest of the RPM range is as expected...audible for sure, but not overly loud or droning. At ~2K RPM, it is a different story.

Makes long drives a bit less comfortable, but isn't unbearable. Then again, family and other passengers have noticed and commented, so it may something to think about.

For the record, no resonator, spare is in original location, all OEM hangers used.

I have magnaflow muffler and it's pretty much the same thing. This is not a drone per say it's just that the exhaust is louder throughout the RPM range so when cruising at 2k RPM you're just hearing more of what the stock exhaust "muffled" previously.

I have it and its a drone at ~2k, makes for tedious long trips. A blast around town.

Going to go back to a stock set up as soon as I get cash for a new OEM cat back.

Any update on the mid pipes for the later year 100's? I have my mid and tail pipes on order. Just checking.

Thanks

Just amazes me how so many here get soo bent outta shape over stupid $hit...as someone who's tig'd a few turbo manifolds myself, i can surely say just from the pics its clear that EMS Powered has produced a really nice product built correctly...just checked under my 03 100, and its time for a new exhaust...now i want the full setup with a resonator, mid pipes & 2 cats...keep the price at $550 thru the end of the year & ill get one...
