Decided to get a Fluidampr after talking to some friends. One of my buddies knows the owner of Rowe Tech in Portland and said he’s currently putting a 4BT in his 80s series. Said he would absolutely put a Fluidampr in. He was able to sell one to me for $450, saving $35 plus shipping. Not cheap but very curious to see how the 4BT handles with a fluid dampener on the front crank.
UPDATE-
Needed Oxygen for work ran by air gas to exchange and talked to Matt about low output on my CO2 regulator and he saw that their guy Brian sold me the wrong regulator. New one will be here in a week and it’s a 100psi rated regulator.

Trying to create more room in the rear of the 60 when going skiing. My skis take up a lot of room. Thinking of a way to secure them to the rear ladder rack. They actually hold on well off the binding.

My hood has popped open a couple times recently and thankfully the safety latch didn’t. Decided it was time to not only fix it but also make a better way of tightening the frame rail with the hood latch down to the body so it can’t twist when driving which I believe why it’s been opening.

Took some steel plate and bent it on the vise with a sledge hammer to make a L to hook under the intercooler.

Then drilled a hole at the top for the bracket and ran a wire and pulled up to the bottom of intercooler. Pushed down on the hood latch til it couldn’t go down any further and marked a spot to drill.

Fished the bracket back up and tightened in the screw. Nice and tight. Now closing the hood to see if it’s better.

Noticed wear from the hood latch. Opened and closed hood multiple times and gently tapped on this hood bracket to push it up towards the hood. Finally it fit great. Adjusted the hood bump stops. Very little movement and a quiet while running.

Now the hood sits flush with the front quarter panel.

Time to Tame the Beast...
Picked up my 4BT Fluidampr from Cedar @ Rowetech here in Portland. Was so excited all day about putting this sucker on and seeing the difference.

What a weight difference. These Fluidampr are beefy. Probably weights about 25 pounds vs the stock crank pulley at maybe 2 pounds.

Blue loctite on the bolts and torqued to 100 ft/lbs. ;)

Belt back on and getting excited.

Wow... what a difference. Felt like another vehicle driving home. Smoothest the 60 has ever ran. Very impressed. Felt more power and seemed like it had more getup and go.

That is impressive, I have the OEM style similar to that, now I have to go put a cup of water on mine.. What are you running for motor mounts.

I have been a little scared of the shakes that every one talks about so I am glad to see this.

Fred in SC

Man, I can't tell you the number of people that have been in my rig and commented on that same thing, that it doesn't shake like everyone makes it out to be. Just one of those false rumors.

Out of curiosity. Did you have to get a different size belt, or can you re-use the same one?

Same belt and same crank pulley bolts.
Best modifications I’ve made, Case-Holland dual valve cover breathers and the Fluidampr.

Hojack, please post a few pics of your highlander floor mats when you get a chance. I am trying to find some good fitting mats. I hate those cut to fit generic crap.
Thanks,

Davaa

Was a great sunny chilly Super Bowl Sunday. Enjoyed a nice long walk/ hike with the wife and dogs before heading to my dads for his 73rd birthday and to watch the game.

A job of mine got rescheduled today and since it snowed last night decided to take a day off.

We got about 2” at home. Decided since Ryder wasn’t feeling good I’d the 60 and Harlee out to play.

The Speedhut Gauges are awesome, even has an altimeter which will be awesome this summer in Colorado for SAS4. My daughter may end up coming. She’s more excited about that than going to show her animals at fair.

It's 78* where I'm at :bang:. Can't wait for summer to start melting the asphalt.
