So Im wiring the 4l60e. I got the big round harness made. Now as far as the neutral safety switch, do I need to wire any of this? I am using the dakota digital shift switch thing to light up the dash shifting indicator lights and it has a provision for a reverse light hook up on it as well. So what do I need the gm nss for or do I need it at all?
2 plug on mine.Is the park/neutral safety switch 1 plug or 2 plug?
Ok I see it now thanksThe 4 wires from the small plug are the transmission range signals and go to the PCM.
So the only purpose for the 7 pin connector on the nss is to wire reverse lights and to wire a circuit to keep it from starting in gear right? Looks like none of those wires go to the ecu.
How did you wire the circuit for not starting in park cable dude? That’s all mine is doing.
Without doing a little digging in my notebook and/or EWD to give you exact colors, I tied 1 wire from the bundle of 4 that comes up from the NSS/gear indicator box to a factory wire behind the glovebox. In doing so it made my reverse lights come on properly, and the dash indicator illuminate.Well thought I would check. I may not wire that up anyway. Its always something that can be added. I will wire up the 4 pin for sure. I need to find where the PO who did the initial swap left the remnants of the reverse lights wire.
Look here. You get it from the NSS 7 pin connector.where did you get signal for reverse light i have 2007 5.3 with 4L60-E and i can't find reverse signal
Oh OK. Look at post 21 here...in that link talk is about older style plug i have new style plug with 12 pins and it is using 6 wires i already checked all the wires and no luck
