Have 3 hyperlapses from the day. From South Loveland up to the start of Switzerland Trail. The Trail itself and then the way back as the sunset.

Mammoth Pool reservoir is on the west side of the California Sierras on the San Joaquin river. Not too far from the eponymous ski resort in a straight line, but a whopping 465mi by car since there are no passes over the range in that area.
Even if there were passes you'd still have to be driving that way in the winter. I'm in Reno now and getting to various parts of central California or Yosemite is a chore in the winter lol.

Yea, the Sierra Nevada don't play.

Is that area frequented by TFL? Scenery looked familar
They just did a trail vid for it, recently. I plan on doing non-hyperlapse going forward

Watched the whole thing to spot the chimney at 7:37, and confirmed legitimate passage of Switzerland Trail. Looked like a blast. Well done.
It was. What was normally a super easy trail gained some proper jeopardy with some of the slick spots.

Agreed! This was us coming over HWY 50 from So. Lake Tahoe this last March, 2024. There was SO much snow, we couldn't get home via HWY 395 and had to go over the pass to HWY 5.

^ Jealous of the western mountains. We don't even get winter anymore in VA. We get annoyingly warm and pleasant autumns where I have to switch between heat and AC and then starting in like a week it will be 50 and raining until May.
Don't feel too bad, at least you have "three" seasons!
Down in San Clemente, CA, we only have "two" seasons: warm and warmer. Usually don't even get the rain! We have to travel up to Tahoe to get our "Winter" fix, or our local mountains, like Big Bear that was just posted a couple days ago on here.

Totally! I was stationed at Beale AFB for a few years. We would get an inch of rain. And Grass Valley would get a foot of snow. They were only at 2k feet.

Same here in CT but it'll sit at 38-42 degrees for weeks at a clip with either rain or nothing and it's just gray forever

It may be coming. Thinking a maybe for Flagpole on Saturday.

One perk of living here in MO is we have Appalachian-esque rugged/forested terrain down here in the Ozarks, but are just a long day's drive from the Rockies in CO, and about a long day and a half from Utah.

Just sharing this here (as I did in my build thread) for double visibility. Know a lot of people were on the fence about upgrading their exhaust, so here's my video showing the stock system vs the Magnaflow Overland kit.

I've always got a thumbs up available for Hooniverse links. I don't frequent the site as much as I used to, but I'm glad to see it's still truckin'. Hooniverse and Atomic Toasters were the best part of the internet for a long time.

That's surprisingly quiet at cruise. Do you have dB readings via phone by curiosity? Getting my system below 60 db at cruise was a major challenge but it's perfect now.
