That's an understatement! I've always been intrigued by the area since I first went out there about 25 years ago exploring the old Pony Express route in my old Nissan 4x4 truck. Ran into a guy hiking Ibapah this week that was researching it for a book he's writing on the US Coast and Geodetic Survey, which used the peak extensively for mapping the 39th parallel in the 1870-1880's. The shelters on top are from their work sites, and they even made small flat spots just below the summit (12,087') for their tents. Amazing stories of work under extreme conditions. I like the area for the remoteness. Not too many areas in the continental US as sparsely populated and out of reach as that area. However, I could pull in a cell signal from the top of Ibapah on Sprint , but from there not until Baker.

Yesterday, installed some sound deadening in rear doors to go with the 6.5" Infinity's I installed. Got the Crossovers mounted. Front doors speakers are installed, the deadening material is next after I get the parts to fix the DS door lock actuator, (FedEx was kind enough to confirm a delivery that never happened), and installed an Infinity Basslink under the passenger seat.

I plan on running synthetic / soft shackles so I had the anchor points ground smooth - I asked for a chamfer like TT but they didn't want to take away from the "integrity of the design" - although this sounded more like liability protection on their end

Because they were ground down they had to be repowder coated - I asked what other projects they had going on - 2 sets of wheels one in matte black and one in ultra black chrome.

With a name like that of course I went with ultra black chrome

This happened on the way back from our Colorado/Utah/Nevada trip. We suspect foul play as I had just gone through the brakes before leaving and torqued everything to spec....and there were some shady characters eyeing up the Cruiser at the hotel we stayed at the night before.

3 sheared studs and a 4th that sheared when I tried removing the lug nut. I was able to scavenge some studs and nuts from te spare tire carrier and a local kid ( I was at Wall Drugs in South Dakota of all places) stopped by and held the flashlight

Nothing worse than a thief. But at least there were some good people to help out. Silver linings, and all that.

Bought a tailgate from California last week and had a chance to put it on this weekend. My old tailgate was starting to show signs of rust... that was a clear understatement. I had to remove the chrome strip from my old tailgate and put it on the new one and the hatch basically disintegrated. This was the carnage:

Newbie w/ a unicorn. Been lurking in the forum for probably six months while searching for the right 100. Three weeks ago bought a 2004 LX w/97k in California. Ultra clean in & out. So far: timing belt, water pump and all fluids, picked up 2014 Tundra rims (off to powder coat dark gun metal grey), planning on wrapping the rims w/ Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/65/18. Blue Sea usb outlets arrive tomorrow. Installed a simple GROM aux mini plug for IPhone/iPad.... that’s it for now, before and after picks to follow. This forum has been insanely informative and we’re stoked to share what we’ve learned from all the folks here!

Got a hundred 99 problems but my cruiser ain't one!

Added this 100 along side my wife's LX about 10 months ago - have driven well over 20k miles in that short time.

Only repairs outside of routine maint have been heater T's (preventative) and rear brakes.

Don't let the miles fool you.

Exactly! I don't blink an eye at a high mileage cruiser with the right maintenance history. Hands down, best car I've ever owned.

My search for headlight upgrade is hopefully over. Need to test at night to be sure.
What a difference.
Size 9006.
Also came with 9005 for high beam / drl.
But they don’t switch between the two.
Stuck on high beam.
That would not be popular.
Gonna try to return those ones.

Disable your DRL and keep the led high beams. That's what I did.

I swapped out my Nokya 2500k 9005 HB3 1700 Lumen high beams for NAPA 3450k 9011 HIR 2100 Lumen bulbs. Not only are these so much brighter than the yellow Nokya lights, but they seem twice as bright as the OE level Philips that were in the LC100 when I bought it. Color is perfect and the overall coverage seems larger as well. $40 for the pair is a bargain.

Installed the Trail Tailor tail gate storage panels

Changed fluids: front diff, t-case, rear diff.
Dropped the transmission pan, installed new strainer assembly and gasket. Cleaned magnets. Refilled with fresh WS fluid.

The rear diff appeared to be pressurized when I removed the fill plug. The culprit was a blocked breather vent valve. Not having a new one on hand, I just cleaned up the old one with disassembly and cleaning.
