Hi everyone, I just picked up my first LC today, 91', one owner, 146k. Most everything seems to work, thanks to the online community here I was able to be well informed and prepared to welcome her to the fleet. Got a 92' FSM from the Toyota publisher (no 91 available, but same truck right?), and look forward to the adventure. Got it from a local Toyota dealer that took it in on a trade. Brake line burst on my test drive, and E brake did not work, so the dealer fixed the issues before I picked her up today. Oil is leaking slowly from somewhere in the engine (wet oil pan), there is typical rust for a vehicle that lived in NYC it's whole life. Drivers side floor is a little wet, smell a little mildew, windows only open a crack all around, sunroof does not work and I don't care. The 3FE seems to have decent power despite popular opinion, and the tranny was rebuilt 10k ago. I think the PO cared for her well, I'm happy. Monday it goes to my mechanic that I've known most of my 47 years for evaluation and planning. So far I expect to keep her stock and use her as designed. Thanks in advance for the questions I will undoubtedly be asking. For example, center diff lock seems to work as I was playing with it in the snow today, but should there be a dash light? or should the button light up? I think a dash light, but have not searched forums yet. Sorry for the long post, forgive me, I'm new.

Nice! How much? How do you plan to use it?

Last time I did actual area 51 I was "ghosted" by to less capable white trucks and then detained.

Got my diffs back from Zuk on Friday ... About 5hrs to get the diffs out, but so far about 10hrs to get them back in with cleaning up all the parts, repacking bearings, painting parts while they're out, etc.. Got the front axle done and bench pressed the rear diff on. Maybe 2-3hrs left today until I can drive my Cruiser after 2 weeks!

I know, I know. Contemplating on getting something a little bigger. Since I've beuilt an off-road trailer, I don't really need as much interior space as I have now. Contemplating a Taco, even though I've never been a fan of IFS.

Part out the 80 and save the axles for the taco!

I saw you fishing over on the Taco section. I resisted mocking you over there, I won’t here!

Tacos are super cute! It will ride nice and smooth on the pavement!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Ha!!! :rimshot:

5k which included new brake lines, rebuilt e brake, but then title, tax, plates on top of that. Also, NY requires dealers give 30 day warranty, so if it blows up in 29 days they have to fix.
Plan right now is just to use it as a daily driver, beach driving for fishing, and to hit any double track I can explore.

Adapted a tool box to a hitch carrier to make weatherproof storage for our trip down the East coast to see family in MS for Christmas.

I finally bit the bullet and got a carrier with lights as it blocks the 80's lights from certain angles. Blocks the plate too, but I can live with that :).
