Visually, it shows faded paint, but very little rust. It spent most of its life in Southern California, but did see a few Midwest winters and has some surface rust on the undercarriage and a spot of rust under the rear hatch glass. Not a museum grade truck, but collectible and handsome, and ready to be put to use!

PSA - Some of the for sale prices I'm seeing here are ridiculous. Search reviews for exporters in Japan and pick a reputable one - I've used Pacific Coast Auto Auctions, and also Japan Car Direct . They all speak English, usually Canadians for some reason. You give a deposit, find a car you like and tell them a max bid*. They'll walk you through everything. Their fees plus shipping and US broker fees would be maybe $4000 or so (estimating as it's been a few years). An HDJ81 with 250k km that auctions for $12k-$14k ends up under $20k. I picked up a 91 w/ 120k km or so for 9k to my door 7 years ago. It's just a few hours of emailing, paperwork and setting up an account or two. Listed at $20,500. The timeless 80 series Land Cruiser - this is a very low mileage (156,525 in miles, although odometer is in Km, so 251,900 on the dash), 1995 right-hand drive, with no lockers. 1997 Lexus LX450 w/ 270k miles. Base lined about three years ago, valve cover gasket, distributor o-ring and oil pump cover gasket all replaced. New spark plugs. Very minor amount of oil at the rear main seal, nothing that will need to be addressed for a while. Tires have 80% of tread left. ARB front bar, roof rack, OME lift and OME steering stabilizer. It’s time to let her go. The kids are leaving home, camping trips are way down and I walk by this every morning and jump in the car to commute to work thinking I should be using it more. I’d rather see it go to someone who can appreciate it for the beast that it is. It has not been on a salted road since 2020. I have taken care of this to the best of my ability, and it has been super reliable. It runs down the road perfectly straight and the supercharger is a dream on hills and highways.
Buy it, drive it, wheel it, baby it; it needs nothing. If I kept it, the only think I would consider adding is a dual battery setup and some additional plugs / outlets inside.

I'm putting my Triple Locked 1997 Landcruiser 80 series up for sale. More solid than anything I've ever owned, I'd trust it anywhere. The best year they were made too!
It's on 315/75r16s (35s) with a 2.5 inch OME lift + a raptor liner paint job. Very solid undercarriage, no rust issues. Has the $1400 Deluxe ARB front bumper + a winch.
I've owned for about a year & in that time, I've done $2K+ already in maintenance and a bunch of TLC: I'll consider reasonable offers but I'm NOT desperate to sell!
