Hey, I lurk here an unhealthy amount of time a day, came across this Pig for sale in UT, no affiliation but i figured someone here might wanna jump on it. I would but I'm more of a 40/60 kind of guy.

A friend spotted this 1977 FJ55 for sale at 84th and L in Omaha today. I had to rush out and look at it before the snow storm.
I have never had the opportunity to look at one of these before. Man, what a beast the Iron Pig is.
It’s definitely got some issues with Bondo and rust but I would have to guess its in far better condition than most.
I got the key and was going to start it but I had no idea which knob was the choke and didn’t want to crank the engine in sub-zero conditions and waste the battery. The dealer was closing up and it was getting dark so I had to hurry up and get some pics to share.

Hi All,
So I have decided to part ways with my project 55 as I just dont have the time or money to work on it anymore. It's got lots of rust, but has been garaged since I bought it a few years ago. I think I got most of the info below, but let me know if you'd like additional pics or info. Cruiser is in Estes Park, CO, a little over an hour NW of Denver. As for price, I was hoping to get around 2300, as thats about what I have into it, but if you are interested in attacking all the rust, I'm open to offers. I put up a few pics below, the duct tape over the rusty spots is so I didn't have to get another tetanus shot ;)

I am selling my 76 FJ55. I have owned this truck for 15 years and am finally ready to part with it. Mainly to help pay for christmas for my 3 daughters after having a hard time after splitting with their mom. I know this truck isn't worth much, but every little bit helps. It is VERY rusty and needs some tlc, but I rebuilt the engine about 30,000 miles ago and the rest of the drive train is in good shape. It has a 2f and a four speed trans. It has fj60 rear springs and fj 40 front springs that are flipped around with a shackle reversal mod. OME springs, shocks and steering stabilizer. I’ve heard that there were only 50 ’79 Pigs sent to the U.S. with Factory P/S and A/C, but I cannot confirm that.

Chopped Top. There WAS a fair amount of rust on this Pig. Front and Rear floorboards replaced, Rear wheel wells re-enforced. There is some fiberglass and bondo on the vehicle, but all metal has been prepped and treated with Zero-Rust before fiberglass was applied. There is still some rust, but it has been treated with Zero-Rust. Some fenders trimmed.
Within the last 6 years:
New gas tank, re-cored radiator,

Springerover, 35" BFG mud terrains (6) all approx 50% or better, power steering, sm420 tranny (approx. 72 to 1 crawl ratio). Lincoln locker rear. Toyota six-cylinder motor runs strong, Weber carb. Full cage with ragtop. Bucket seats with harness’s. Recent upgrade to front end. Disc brakes and stronger axels and berfields. Sorry to say they are not longfields but they are out of a Toyota truck with 30 spline axels and thicker berfields. Many extra parts to go with her.

I've got a great running '74 FJ55 with a monster Chevrolet V8 in it in. This is a better then average New England truck but it has it's share of patches, dents, fixes, rust and bondo. The front fenders are newish Specter Offroad pieces. We've spray painted over the PO's camo job in a nice navy blue with a white roof. It's a decent 20-footer but not a show-truck.
The engine is fantastic, a custom built small block Chevy V8 with very few miles on it. Optima Red Top battery, Edelbrock Performer carb with electric choke, starts easily and runs smoothly. Just put on new plugs and wires and corrected some vacuum leaks. It runs perfectly.

I ran into a FJ40 that my friend used to have. I spoke to the owner and he is selling- the FJ40 is clean and well done. Lots of custom work. The outside is a kind of stone-splatter finish. Inside is really nice paint and looks like Supra seats.
It has a V8 I think
He paid $13K and wants around $9K.
He is also selling a FJ55 w/ Rockwell 2 ton axles and 44's, V8. Same price. I did not see it.

Has a new rebuilt Chevy 283 V8 engine with 0 miles on it. Holly carb, hooker headers. New off road light bar with 6 lights. Brand New Mickey Thompson 33" tires on brand new 17" x 10" Ion Aluminum rims. New head liner. Brand new 2 inch suspension lift. Cadillac powered front seats. New carpet front to back. New oil and temp guages. New Euro turn signals. New exhaust. Sprayed in bedliner front to back under carpet. Runs good but needs a few last things done before it hits the road. Health forces sale.

this is a project or parts rig. 95% stock with a carter carb and longer confer shackles. new starter, alternator, brakes, master cylinder,.....back in 2000 and has barely been driven since.
the good: runs and drives, very complete, dorrs and rear bumper are in excellent condition, front bumper is good and has oem license plate holder. all lights are in good shape and work well. rear seat in excellent condition as well.
the bad: rod knock so it won't drive far. needs to be trailered. rust in the usual spots; front fenders and roof are the worst. froit seat is showing it's age.
i'm selling this for a buddy. we do not have any paperwork for it but it's got a clean title. i have all the info.........

Mileage of cruiser is unknown, the speedometer didn't work when I bought it so I adapted an FJ60 speedometer into the panel with a working speedo, odometer and trip meter.
