UPDATE: SOLD -- Very happy to say Old Green found a good home. Thanks, MUD, for the resources, and good luck to all looking for a pig like this rig! [Editing this for all the updates that folks new to the thread may not have seen. Carb has been rebuilt, fuel system and electricals now solid, but engine bit the dust. Check out this newer ad for current mechanical status and updated price... 1971 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55 -- Needs engine] I've inherited a little project that I (bummed!) don't have time or space for right now. This sharp-looking rig's been a fun driver for most of the 15 years I've known her, in town and polite off-roading. Not running at the moment (some issue with the carb system?), hence the steal of a deal price...
Looking for a Cruiser to replace a Range Rover that is presently in a Lion exhibit at an internationally recognized zoo in Southern California. This vehicle is a major part of the exhibit theme, the guest experience and is prominently placed for the Lions to enjoy and all to see. The theme is a researchers camp. While they are out the Lions moved in. The Lions love it. They lay on top and inside and chase each other around it. This vehicle ends up in everybody's pictures. I never liked the rover because that's not what the researchers would have used, but it is all that we had to use at the time. A lot of work went into preparing the vehicle to be safe for the animals. Every bit of plastic comes off, anything loose gets removed or...
I have a 1976 FJ-55 plus a lot of parts from a 1972 FJ-55. the 1976 has a chevy 350 motor and 350 trans. also have a chevy 400 trans. connected to the 1972 transfer case. bought the 1976 to build had it shipped from Utah to West Virginia, then driven to Pittsburgh, Pa. was going to build just never got around to it. went and looked at the 1976 found a lot worse, rust wise then I thought but still a lot of good parts. will sell for $600.00 the amount that junk yard will give for junk. Lot of good land cruser parts that I would hate to see crushed email chuck1438@msn.com
In the market for a pig primarily, but would also consider a FJ60 for the right price. Please let me know what you have and please send pics and pricing. Cash buyer and location doesn't really matter to me as long as it's not rusted out.
PA piggy for sale (again) price reduced Nov 4
My friend Todd Oldenburg sold me his nice 96 FJ80- my wife likes it and I'm gonna cut loose with the 55 I acquired a few months back. Original for sale blurb here: For Sale: - 1974 FJ55 in PA/USA Price is $3700 and that's what I have in it. It is currently inspected in PA until October 2016. It runs well and Richie described it pretty accurately. Yes it has rust in a lot of places but is structurally sound and in my opinion ready to provide a few more years of service for someone. My intention was to drive it just the way it is, cosmetically anyway. I haven't done much more than install some modern shoulder harnesses up front. original front seat belts and shoulder straps are included. I cleaned the truck up and have been driving it...
I was not planning on ever selling this but decided on a different rig for our pan-American trip. We are leaving in November and I would like to sell it to someone who will love it as I have. -Saginaw steering -350 out of an RV from 76' (rebuilt with less than 3k miles) -Newer transmission and transfer case. Stock 4 speed. -Got propane dual fuel kit that is my favorite part of the truck. 16 gallons of propane to wheel with and gasoline to get you there and back. Also has an electric fuel pump in case the mechanical one fails. Fuel delivery will never be a problem with this pig. -Even more spare parts than you would expect. Everything from hinge bushings, to water pump and starter, to crank handles. Pretty much anything you might need as...
1969 FJ55 Cody WY (Not Mine)
Saw this on my way back from Yellowstone. If I only had a trailer with me I would be making room in my garage this morning! If I read it correctly, the owner wants $1000. The sign was very faded but I think the phone number was 250-0525. I took a quick look underneath and the frame looked solid. No idea if it runs. It's west of Cody on US 14 and Road 6Cu across from the Green Creek Inn & RV Park. If that phone number isn't correct maybe you could call the Green Creek folks and see if they know who owns it. Someone save this one!

Sadly selling my 1974 FJ55. $5,500 OBO. Very good starter with lots of upgrades: V8 with Edelbrock carb, ARB rear locker, Ranger Overdrive, Disc front axles, Power steering, electric cooling fan, heavy duty custom trailer hitch, small spring lift, front springs reversed that helps it track straight--rear window works perfectly. Solid floors and interior w/ radio/sub/amp installed, everything works except back-up lights and emergency brake. Current registration, insurance and clear title. Has typical body issues (see pics) especially with the roof and rear fenders and has occasionally shown bad shimmies around 45mph (could be related to the BFG 33x10.50 tires which have great tread, but are 10 years old. I've had issues with the...
