This is my daily driver. It still has stock 3 speed and is running 33-12.50X15 wheels. Dual tanks. Nothing wrong at all. Medical issues are causing me to sell. I gave my 1972 to son and just sold my 71. Asking $8500.00. I would have no fear in jumping in this baby and driving 400 miles non stop. This because I have done exactly that. I seem to have broke speedo cable a month ago? But this has absolutely no rust issues. Has both heaters. I disconnected rear heater hoses. The dang thing used to cook me out even during winter. The hardtop is apart needing revealed but otherwise perfect. Has rear jump seats. Fronts need recovered. But it a clean rig. Still has all drum brakes. Need slight adjustment. This add will read as most adds do on this site- I've sunk a ton of money, time, sweat and tears into this truck but it has to go. You will be buying it at a bargain.
Bought it from a guy in New Mexico almost nine years ago and have been working on it ever since. Six years ago I started a frame off restoration in my garage and sunk close to $7000 in new parts, paint, and labor.
The usual questions-
Rust- very little- had some bubbling in a tiny spot above pass. rear wheel well. Other than that everything is rust free
Engine-stock- just rebuilt with less...

I bought this to use the motor, frame, drive train and put a 74 body on it. I'm going to put a motor in the 74 so this project could be yours.
The guy I bought it from put most of the miles on it and was very attached to it so I let him keep one back door that had a zappa for president on it.
With tires this is a daily driver, believe it or not. It runs better than my 78. Shifts smooth and acts just like it should in low. The frame is perfect. When you look underneath it looks like new. It needs a tub, back door, and perhaps a new windshield frame. I'll be putting around in it until sold, so you may be able to drive it away. I would trailer it just to be on the safe side.

GENERAL
I bought this cruiser in ~1991 and, like many, went through a series of mods towards more extreme wheeling. My first trip to GSMTR I pulled a trailer behind this 40 and on my last trip five years ago, it was on a trailer. I have run every trail challenge that GSMTR had to offer as well as runs around the Midwest and South Dakota.
This is an experienced rockcrawler so it has some trail rash, but rust is not an issue. I put on a Gen 1 Aqualu body tub and replaced any other parts that had shown rust. The frame is absolutely solid.

Looking to buy an FJ45. Doesn't need to be spotless, but something that's in decent shape. Anything in Western Canada would be a plus (is it a big process bringing something across from the US? I'm totally clueless on importing). Looking in the 10-15k realm.
I've owned a couple 40s in the past, but have been TLCless for a while now. I'm starting to get an itch and would like to find pickup.

California Rig originally from Redding , Ca. hence not rusted away. It is all original except drive train.. ie tranny, transfer case and engine. With only a tad over 20,000 on odometer. It was a barn find that had sat in redding, Ca. for almost 21 years untouched. Fully registered and titled in california now. I also have my 1973. 73 not for sale , just making room for the possible purchase of a Toyota Landcruiser truck..oooooohhhhhh yeahhhhhhh
Feel free to ask questions. The tranny and transfer case that go with this is now a 4 speed. and f-head from a 1973. Installed , just needs finished. too many projects. I will be selling daily driver 1973 in future/

Hey guys, fig I'd give the mud members first crack before she goes up on Craigslist. 69 fj40, Chevy 350, Toyota 4 spd and trans case. Soa lift, Saginaw p/s conv. Front Pwr disc, rs 9000 shocks, corabu seats. Has some rust, needs new rear sill, corners on quarter panels. Has bubbles forming on top of fenders. Rest of truck is pretty solid. Hate to see her go but don't have time or $$ right now. Would rather see it go to good home. $6500 firm on price, that's what I bought it for and just looking to break even.
I am sad to put my FJ up for sale but I have orders overseas.:frown: I have only had it about 3 years. The Previous owner sunk a lot of money into parts to make a really reliable rig. I haven't driven it much in the past 3 years. I worked on it more than drove it.

I have a 1973 FJ40 for sale asking 1100 or best offer. I have the Nevada title for it.
Got it from the p.o. that said the engine was rebuilt 15 years ago and has sat ever since. The only things i have done to it so far are: rebuilt the carb, checked the alternator and its good, checked the starter it needs to be replaced, and also put a wrench on the engine to see if it would turn so i know its not seized and cleaned all the dirt and leaves out of the cab.
I have a complete set of 4 of the chrome rims and 3 of the white it also has a tow bar and tool box.
