Hi Guys
I've been sitting on my BJ40 project for a while and I can't seem to make it happen. Its a 79 BJ that needs an engine rebuild. It is registered and insured in the State of NJ, USA. It has new wheels and tires, OEM style. Last time I quoted the engine rebuild kit it was about $450 AUD plus shipping to the US. The vehicle is white and would come with some miscellaneous parts, etc. It is originally a South American Vehicle that I had imported, only drove it about 30miles before the engine troubles started. I'm not sure what a fair price would be considering the economy and what I have spent to date but will consider any offer as I need to remove it from it's current location and don't have room for it at home. Any interest please send an email to albert@albertrodrigues.com. thanks

Does it still drive or is the engine apart?

The vehicle has not been taken apart. The interior is complete, it comes with two extra wide side facing back seats and two front seats. I have an extra starter tat fits but needs to be re-built. It has a rust free frame but it does need repair at one rear shock mount location, some welding required and a patch plate to make it 100% safe for highway use.

I had a local mechanic replace the bearings, but the crank was out too much and needs to be replaced to get it running again. I was looking into a full re-build kit from Engine Australia and have a full estimate and price list for parts (2009 pricing) as I thought it would make sense to do the whole job right. The mechanic tells me the existing crank can be ground-down and re-used. Please email me for pricing info, I just want a fair deal and sell to someone who can enjoy it. I spent nearly $1500 on the wheels and tires alone, the vehicle cost me $6500 plus shipping to NJ from CA.

Hi Guys, I like to make a few points before my BJ is verbally destroyed on the site. I was more optimistic about the value of the vehicle and someone did come to see it who has owned them before, I had not. I went to go see a few cruisers after his visit and yes, I would honestly say it could use a tub since there is a lot of bondo. I would argue on the frame bit. The passenger side right rear has been poorly welded at the strut mount but the rest of the frame is straight and not worn thin like cruisers that were sold in Canada of the same age. It is probably a good rolling chassis as he says. The engine does need to be re-built and the rest of the mechanicals need to be looked at but were operating when I drove the vehicle. In speaking with a few other people about costs and what would be reasonable I am hoping to sell it for $2250.00. I apologize to all who have inquired and hope this sets me straight as I do not want to deceive anyone and hope this vehicle can be on the road some day.
