1974 FJ-40 all alum body. This started as a father son project years ago. Looking to sell to work on a 1967 Landcruiser. Just installed new interior door handles and new windshield glass. Please read the following description. Have independent appraisal for $17,000 before the hard top was restored and before the disc brake front end conversion and rebuild. The last time I checked prices on the Aluminum panels with Aqualu the price was $8180 for all the pieces, (over a year ago). Now asking $13,500. Very custom Landcruiser. Aluminum body panels from Aqualu Industries INC. Aluminum body has a lockable drop box in rear cargo floor, cowl and windshield, smooth tailgate with storage, extra wide (3/12) fenders, hood side panels (side aprons), and front Rad. cover (front Bib) all replaced with Alum.
Aluminum body was sandblasted and coated with smooth black Arma Coating under entire body, front fenders, and engine firewall.
Inside floor, firewall, and under fiberglass top (Headliner) black Arma Coating with standard rough texture.
Interior:
Dark gray cloth 6-way manual adjusting seats out of a newer Honda. CCOT seat belts. New Painless wiring harness front to Back. Brand new Optima battery under drivers seat. CCOT poly fuel tank. VDO gauges in black powder coated gauge panel. New pedal pads. New marine style heater installed w/defrost. Rear Toyota heater added with new black heater hoses from to back, with a high, low and off switch. Tuffy 10in wide radio security console. JVC CD player with remote and Aux input in front.
Mechanical:
Chevy 383 stroker. New Edelbrook valve covers with Felt Pro gaskets. Edelbrook performer intake manifold, brand new 600cfm Edelbrook carburetor. Custom 2 to 1 2.5 in exhaust. Toyota 4sp transmission, transfer case, front and rear differentials. Rebuilt parking brake with brand new Toyota parking cable. Toyota factory style power steering added, Stainless brake lines front and rear. VDO gauges temperature, oil, speedometer, voltmeter, and fuel senders. Front Disk brake conversion using a newer Toyota Landcruiser front axle. New Trunion bearings, wheel bearings, seals, pinion seal, Toyota V-6 vented calipers, rotors and pads. New wheel spacers ( front and rear) to clear the larger calipers. New cap, rotor, and coil.
New Toyota ignition switch. Oil change and filter on July 12th 2010.
Suspension:
Downy 4in springs front and rear, extended greeseable shackles, OME rear shocks and front stabilizer, Rancho front shocks.
Exterior:
Aluminum panels have been brushed and left Raw. The hardtop was disassembled; the fiberglass top was filled and sanded, re-riveted to the metal rain gutter and painted with 2 coats of Whitecote a (POR product). New glass in hardtop sides and rear. Windows are tinted. New Toyota handle and lock-cylinder.
The side panels and tailgate were sandblasted, cleaned, zinc etched, POR 15, 3 coats of Hippo-liner and top coated with 2 coats of POR clear.
Same treatment for metal doors, hood, front bezel and front bumper.
New CCOT weather-stripping on front doors.
IPF 7” round headlights. IPF green-glow 55/60w halogen bulbs.
Newer style lights installed on front fenders. New lights installed in rear bumper.
Conn-Ferr single tube rear bumper with 2in receiver hitch. Front bumper with tow points and “D” Shackles. Toyota “Landcruiser”OEM emblems added this spring on both front aprons, the “Toyota” and “4WD” emblems added to the rear as well. Looks great!
