Been asked a bunch of questions about the rig, so i am going to post up some answers to provide a bit more info about the FJ40

was asked if the paint was duraback or another bed liner, - That is paint on the FJ, it is a matte tan color. On the interior, the floor is rhinolined- its super durable and easy to clean out.

as far as rust, mostly what is there is surface stuff. i'll climb under and get some pics of the frame for you today. typical FJ40 stuff, nothing that i have discovered that would be a show stopper.

As i mentioned on ih8mud, the rig does need some work- the brakes need to be serviced, i think the shifter could be tightened up with some new bushings etc.. if you are a Land Cruiser enthusiast you'll be able to sort thru the FJ and have yourself a nice little rig.

That diamond plate replaces the metal underneath- I believe. from what Shay told me, the PO cut out all the tub rust, and it was replaced with that 1/4" steel plating. when you knock on it, its solid.

any other questions feel free to PM me or shoot me an email at rubin565@gmail.com

few things i noticed while looking around the FJ again that i forgot to include in the Forum listing the 1st go around

- has a custom fuel tank- i believe its an extended range tank, greater capacity.

-the rear end of the tub including the floor is full 1/4 steel plate. there is no more rusty original metal remaining, its all been replaced. the frame looks to be in really good shape for its age. better than my FJ60! and that's 10 years younger!

- window cranks dont seem to work well, should be easy to pull the cover off the doors and sort that thru

- has an electric fuel pump, theres a switch on the dash for it (doubles as a kill switch for theft protection  )

NEW PICS!

some with the soft top- some topless

the softtop is a Bestop, comes with all the bows and full top - everything needed to run it.

Nice 40 and a very fair price.
Good luck with the sale.

Thanks Mud. i really feel this price is quite fair. looking around for other Rigs at this price point is shocking.

if Shay (owner) wasnt in a rush to sell it, i think this rig could fetch 8k.
