This is jeep is great condition. No holes, no issues with engine, everything works, and has never seen a winter. It's located in Europe, but I can import to Canada (Halifax) since I have dual citizenship. Cost of shipping and importation is mine to bear. i had a dream of taking 3 months off and drive from florida to across the border into Mexico and down to Peru and back with my wife. The dream vehicle that could do it all in style is the fj40. After spending almost 18mo. reading everything i could find about fj40 & drooling over the fj40s here on mud. It was time to move forward. step 1) As i was advised here on mud I made a list of my needs: reliable, good power, can go long distances before needing to re-fuel (diesel), power steering, A/C (it gets hot where i live). step 2) locate a rust free fj40. sent it to Proffitt's cruisers and had them go through it top to bottom mechanically. everything on this truck was gone through, front and rear axels, PS. all 4 wheel disc break, 1HZ...

77' FJ40 FOR SALE $9,500.00
I've owned it since 08' and it's always passed safety and emissions. Daily drove it for a long period but haven't used it much the past two years. The door seals are tight, however there is rust in passenger door, top around corner windows, light rust on rear doors (still seal well). The tub and floors are solid. Suspension and frame are solid.
The rust staining around the affected area is making it seem worse than it is. The paint would really benefit from buffing.
Original Motor and Trans 89,000 miles
Carburetor has been replaced with a Weber
Emissions control has been removed
Exhaust was just replaced 2 years and 220miles ago with SOR header, muffler and tail pipe.
Passes Emissions and safety yearly...

Putting up for sale my 1972 FJ40 located near Cleveland, Ohio. Purchased about 4 or 5 years ago from PA. The 40 spent a significant part of its life in AZ before going to PA, told that it was always garaged in PA. I bought as a daily driver, but it was too nice for me to drive through the winters so it has spent most of its life in Ohio in storage. When it was not in storage, I had the original axles swapped with 80's model FJ axles with 370 gears and now 4 wheel disc brakes from JT/Outfitters & Specter Off-Road. I also added new 33 x 10.5 x 15 BF Goodrich A/Ts with 80's original steelies to accommodate disc brake offset.
The engine starts right up, and has strong oil pressure. I am doubtful that it is the original...
This is a 1978 Toyota FJ40 with the original 2F 6 cylinder engine and 4 speed transmission. The car was imported from South America where it spent all of its time in cold climate. We did a restoration six months ago before bringing the car to the US. All customs, EPA and DOT documents are compliant and clear. It is a great vehicle with the original Rustic Green (Color Code 621) exterior paiting, white roof, and rear ambulance doors. Pristine interior with original vinyl seats and bech on the back. Zero rust, Japanese cabin and many original Japanese parts. It is a great example of this 4x4 beast that you can drive as your every day car or keep as your weekend/outdoor driver. Hey everyone, Im selling my '73 40. I bought it about 6 months ago just after moving back to the states. I saw it on a small car lot in upstate SC, got excited and bought it... as my only car. I had a work vehicle so there wasn't too much demand that I have another car. I did some work (I have this community to thank for all the help) on it and replaced and rebuilt some things:
New brake booster; new clutch master and slave; electronic ignition and new coil (still have the points if you want them); new gas tank, sending unit, rubber lines, filter; rebuilt carb; new oem wheels and caps.
Other small things like new thermostat, flushed radiator, new plugs and wires, replaced some stuck brake cylinders, changed all fluids.
