I don't really want to but looks like I need to sell this old girl. She's been good to me, and I've had no problems. It has a 350 and the front end is stable. She'll do 80 on the highway and you won't realize it. MRAP seats in the back are cool. I get lots of thumbs up. She really is a beast, on and off road. I'm located in the Hatch/Las Cruces, NM area. Panels are solid. (I also have the parts for power steering, I just haven't had time to get it done). Asking $12,900.00 or best reasonable offer

1973 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40
250straight six from a 1969 Chevelle, 4 speed FJ40 transmission and 4WD transfer case. Holly 4 barrel carburetor, K&N cold air intake attached to a Safari Snorkel. Replaced Clutch Master cylinder, slave cylinder, clutch plate and bearing. Upgraded brake master cylinder and front disk brake calipers from a FJ62, new front pads and rotors.
Upgraded FJ62 power steering unit from stock manual steering. New Optima red top battery, radiator and water pump. 5 brand new 33” tires. Custom new wiring harness with external relay box (2 relays are used for front and rear spotlights) 3 remaining relays are prewired for future accessories. Front headlights upgraded to H4 style removable bulbs.

He had it in Phoenix were he bought it from the original owner in the 1990s. He had it up in Seattle (garaged kept always) for about a year before listing it for sale…previous owner rebuilt engine, trans and transfer case…has near new tires—-beautiful FJ ready for a new home (wife wants to turn our garage in to her gym….New Years Resolution…..so the FJ has got to go. 1972 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 with small block Chevy engine and 4 speed transmission. Engine runs strong. I just got it back from my mechanic after it had been sitting for years. Yes, I drove it home, and although it isn't for the faint of heart, the engine runs great. In order to get it going it will need the carb rebuilt, and a few other obvious fixes (clutch works, but could use attention, brakes the same, tires are badly weather checked). Just replaced: battery, fuel pump, air filter and housing, ignition switch and coil, fuel lines (re-routed). Other maintenance completed as well. See pictures for list from mechanic. $8000 for local pick up.

Up for sale is our 1975 FJ40. I started a frame off 10 years ago and it breaks my wife's’ heart that I can not finish this. I started a rebuild page here on Mud as well. Photos of the tear down, new rotisserie.
All was going well, until my hands started with Dupuytren's Contracture. I’ve lost the use of both hands from this genetic disease as my fingers are all curled up.
Clean title since 1985 when I purchased her.
This is a great Father/ Son/ Daughter, Husband/ Wife project.
The entire body was sandblasted except for the 4 doors, 2 front and 2 rear.
Tub has been braced w/ 2" X 2" square stock, so the Tub is square and ready to mount to new rotisserie.
The frame has no damage, needs a good repaint. Just some surface rust.

1966 FJ40 in overall decent/ good condition for age. The 3 on the tree as well as 4 wheel drive shifter have been relocated to floor, upgraded to a Toyota 2F engine (1984 vintage), manual Warn hubs. Runs pretty good. Lots of work ($19,000+ in receipts from Torfab in Everett and Better Off Road in Oak Harbor) has been professionally done such as complete brake system new, drivelines new, 16" wheels new, clutch new, shocks new, battery new, radiator new, front knuckles rebuilt with new bearings. Original pto front winch. Some electrical work needed (gauges don't work) and body work completed. Drive it while you complete the restoration. . Asking $25,000/ offer. 360-969-6471. Great project. Needs some work to be road worthy.
It starts right up, original engine is good. Original drive train is good. Some surface rust but no rot.
Perfect candidate to restore as we all know these late FJ40 models are very sought after nowadays.
With a small effort it can be on the road while it gets fixed up.
This a very educated crowd so I won't offend your intelligence by stating the obvious “Late”FJ40 (79 and up) already have from factory, the common "upgrades" early models are subject to, such as faster diffs for highway speeds, better engine, better ignition, power brakes, power steering etc.
Needs body work on rear quarters, floors seem to have been replaced a while...
