1980 Toyota Land Cruiser - 3.9L Cummins 4BT turbo-charged diesel FJ40

This 1980 Toyota Land Cruiser is the perfect mix of vintage and new. After all, this classic 4x4 can still live up to its go-anywhere reputation today thanks to a full restoration and an upgrade to Cummins turbo diesel power. You can do all of it from a modern climate controlled interior.
The matte gray looks like granite, and so you know there was a solid investment in this Land Cruiser. It combines with the black accessories like the large Man-a-Fre front bumper w/bull bar, grille, skid plate, windshield tie-downs, Man-a-Fre Rock Slider side steps, and steel swing-away rear basket to complete this tough-as-nails presentation. There are even upgrades like the LED headlights and dual tow hitches are exceptionally helpful out on the trail. As you look over this whole presentation, you see a level of quality that comes from thoughtfulness and a multi-year restoration. But more than just look great, many of the body panels were changed over to fiberglass. So while you still have strong steel fenders, the other pieces are easier to care for as well as lighter when you want to turn this into a convertible 4x4.
Inside is more of the best of vintage and new. For example, you can have fun with the classic CB radio, or you can know exactly where you are at all times with the Pioneer AM/FM/CD touchscreen stereo that also is used for Bluetooth and GPS Navigation. You still have the vintage thin and grippy three-spoke steering wheel, beyond that is a full digital gauge panel. This is a true off-road machine that's why you have features like a tough load floor, weather resistant bucket seats, and Viair air compressor. They invested in a full roll bar setup anchored to the floor, so you're covered when the roof is on or off. Also, no matter if you're enclosed or open to the world, the automatic climate control system, featuring R134a air conditioning, is there to keep you cool.
Under the hood is a terrific upgrade to a Cummins 4BT turbo diesel. We love these Toyotas for their near indestructible reputation, and the fuel-injected Cummins unit shares that kind of status while also adding huge helping of extra torque. Plus, the stout 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is built to handle this motor while also providing overdrive comfort. But more than just a motor/trans upgrade, this whole setup was invested in to create a superior go-anywhere machine. This includes a Trail Gear Six-Shooter Kit up front, Dirty 30 axle with trunnion bearing eliminator in the rear, and drilled & slotted four-wheel disc brakes. Add in the two-speed transfer case, lifted stance, and power steering, and this feels like a limitless Land Cruiser.
