I am go to be putting a roll cage in my 1974 FJ40. I would love to see some pics of how they look. I would love to buy a kit or just buy someones old cage. I do not have the front dash pad, so I would like a kit that does not have a bend in the front, I would like to see a metaltech cage with out the bend in the front. I am just loking for some ideas. Please just show me what yall have. Thanks Stephen.

Very nice cruiser, I like the look with no dash pad. and I know we are talking about an FJ40. ;)

My old cage had straight A pillars, the problem with it was that you couldn't turn the window cranks with the door closed. Just something to keep in mind when you design yours.

Also consider a spreader bar across the front at dash height, it makes the cage a lot stronger.

Nice job on the spray in bed liner. Too bads your Cruiser has to share the garage with that Heep!

thanks, that a good thing to think about. Just last night I started to put my engine back together, I will have it done next week I hope! then I can move onto the roll cage. here are a fw pics from last nigh

what do yall think?

I think you should stop work on your rig and start working on mine. That looks A#1 to me.

Our (Redline Land Cruisers) Cages do not have the Radical bend around the dash. your window cranks still work, it will still clear the Hard Doors and should look good without the dash Pad, you will have the option of putting the dash spreader a little lower than the following photos show
This is our Family Cage

and one of my cage which can be reproduced if a customer is interested

This is the last cage that I built. It has the optional seat craddel as well.

I picked up a metaltech cage. The price is right. they use all DOM tubing (the strongest), not DREW. If you can get the cage in-state....go for it.

If you have questions call their shop and chat with LT or Mark. They will explain why their cage design exceeds the specs of others....why they designed it as is....

Good luck.

Our Cages Uses DOM in the Main "B" Pillar, and HREW for the rest of the design, Where Metal Tech uses DOM in their "A" Pillar, and HREW for the Rest. They also use 2" Tube, Vs. Our 1.75".. This allows us to get away from the large bend on the A Pillars, and have a Straighter, (and we believe stronger) design.

one other difference is 6 Cage Tie points in the Redline Cage, vs. the Large Mounting Plates and 4 Tie's of the MT Cages.

Either way you go, a Cage is the best investment for the safety of you and your Family, Here is a Photo and Link to Video of Tim Rolling his Prestine 4 Runner on the 4th, Cage did its job and everyone was ok, Except his Sheet Metal ;)
