I've been thinking on how i'll be doing my sliders. First i thought of doing a tube that would be attach to the frame run right under the outer edge of the stock running board to go back to the frame. Then i changed my mind and decided to do like most do, use a plate to do a angle along the rocker panel and bolted to it, then use some 1 1/4" pipe to recreate the stock sliders shape and cover it with checker plate. Then do a other L angle bolted inside the rocker panel and thru the outer Angle, and attach that Angle to the frame.
But after talking with some Heep folks they told me that they don't do that because i shouldn't attach the body to the frame, since the body is not solidly attach to the body but with bushing. And they showed me just by shaking the heep body you could see the gap change between the rocker panel and there slider that are right under the body and not attach to the body.
But i see many people has done slider without considering this flex between body and frame. Here is a exemple (no offence)

The reason why i wanted to do my second idea was to give more clearing under the rocker panel.
Also i notice that the stock setup doesn't either take this flex into account. There is a bracket from the frame body support to the outside of the rocker panel to hold the front of the running board. Maybe flex is minimal and the thin bracket holding the running board is not strong enough to cause issue.
So what you think, should i just go attach the slider to the frame and don't bother, or i could probably attach the sliders to the body mount front and rear (8mm bolt?) but i doubt that be strong enough.
