I am a huge fan of the nitto trail grappler mt's....

I have seen 6 different sets, most of them 37"s get mounted and balanced with little to no weights needed. They are a phenomenal tire.

I have heard great things about the Nitto tires. But $444 a tire vs. $374 a piece makes a difference.

How long have your Trail Grappler MT lasted?

I had a set of nitto Terra grapplers (at model) that lasted 60k. I would think mts wouldn't last quite that long but nitto is generally considered a good, long lasting, tire.
Speaking of g003s though I just rotated mine for the first time. I've put about 4k on them wo issue. I still like them in all terrains including snow.

I got 45,000 miles on my last set but I also do a lot more driving on dirt roads than most others.

I'm at 28,000 on my current set and they still got plenty of tread.

The toyo rt's I previously ran were constantly getting flats and only lasted 30,000 miles.

$343.00 a tire for 315/75/16 at discount tire.

I've never had a MT last much more than +/-25,000 miles. Something about grinding away on slickrock ledges in southern UT that prevents long lasting wheeling tires.

My Duratracs lasted 50K in winter duty. And still have 50% tread but dry as hell so I retired them.

I def considered the Yoko MT G003s, but settled on BFG KM3s based on yt reviews, weight and wait. Backorder city!

The Yokos are def the best looking out of the top-tier MT selection in my eyes, but the KM3s are a newer design. IMHO, can't go wrong with any of these selections from the major brands. They all have the R&D backing and history to deliver a great product.

So go with what you feel looks good, rotate them every 3-5K miles per manufacturer's guidance and enjoy because tires aren't forever.

Nitto Trail Grapplers in 37x12.5R17, slightly bigger, 6-7lbs heavier than KM3s and about as loud as a Toyo MT based on my experience from years ago. In my case, bigger isn't better because I have so little room on the back side of the front fender on turns.

Yokohama Geolandar MT G003, slightly bigger, 2-3lbs lighter than KM3s and touted to be a relatively quiet MT like the KM3s

I'm keeping an eye on the new Nitto Recon Grapplers which are ATs, but not yet available in 37x12.5R17s should I ever switch back to a lighter weight, quieter tire. "KO3s" will be interesting.

those of you that are getting like 50,000 miles out of tires how are they riding at the end of their life? Almost all of my tires develop terrible vibration and cupping after about 35,000. That includes a set of BG KO2, Cooper STT Pro and Yokohama G003. To try to fix this i installed new spindols and bearings. That didnt help. The current set of Toyo ATs are doing really well at 25,000. I had it aligned at the install and found that my toe was way out. I am hopping that the bad toe adjustment was responsible for all the other sets going bad. But time will tell if these Toyos go the distance.

For you guys getting a lot of mileage out of tires are you guys getting them re balanced during their life time or just doing regular rotations?

My Duratracs wore very well. I rotated regularly, basically with each oil change. They never saw offroad duty so that helped. My suspension is well maintained. All new bushings, etc...

All my wheeling tires got roughed up and cupped, chunked, cracked, what ever after a few years of use. And yah, they got loud.

I have experienced these same problems with bfg's, general's and cooper's. I didn't get near that many miles on my toyo's but they seemed to wear a little bit better near the end of their lifespan.

The nittos have been the best for me. They stayed nice and smooth all the way to the end (45,000).

Rotate and balance every 6 thousand miles, although my nittos were always balanced until I would tear a tread block off or something.

Also make sure you don't overinflate them, the tire shop always airs my e rated nittos up to 60 or 70 psi, way too much air for a 6,000 lb suv.

If i find out that my problem was alignment i would love to go back to a MT like the Yokohama. Honestly the Toyo AT is great in everything i have thrown at it. But man the MT just look so much better. I know that is shallow but it is true.

But i get to try a lot of tires out. Considering i put about 20,000 miles a year on the truck i am doing 5 new tires every 2 years. Not a cheap process.

I am assuming my squealing tires going around corners has to do with my toe angle as well. I really need to get it in and have an alignment done.

From the positive reviews for the Geolandars I think I will be replacing my current 315/75-16 KO2 with the Yokohama tires and when I am ready for 37s I will go that same route.

For those that are running the Geolandar MT G003, what tire pressure are you running daily? I light weight compared to some LC out there, ie tools, spare in back, front tube bumper and winch.

I don't daily anymore, but I keep them at 45psi for in/around town.

I think per @leonard_nemoy suggestion I am going to do the chalk test to get the ideal pressure. Thank you for all your input
