You don't know if you would do a LS swap? Why? Not enough power?

I only say I would re-consider the LS swap now having it done. It's not a power issue or that I am unhappy with the result. But looking at the bigger picture, cost of getting it done, all the modifications needed, and what came out the way I expected vs. something's that I couldn't get 100% the way I liked. You look back on a project like this and consider could I have gotten similar results with a different engine combo,
Maybe staying all Toyota... I dunno couldn't help throwing it out just for consideration.

Anyone doing a swap like this I think would be happy with going the LS path. I have more power then what the drive train can handle now. The nice thing with the land cruiser platform is it is accepting of many different engine combos, diesel, straight 6, V8, etc. LS is just one of many options.

You're complete right. A clean swap with OEM harness and all emissions equipment installed should pass, especially with the E-rod 'executive order'.

I definitely plan to call Air Care before buying the engine. I have no desire to run the engine w/o all required equipment anyway. I want to keep that 2 year warranty!

I'll look for that thread...if someone comes across it, link it here.

I can't find a reference to GVW in the Chevy Performance catalogue. I only see one Erod 6.2 L at 430 hp.

It's @landheaven who had a shop do his...

Did you ever finish this? And get emissions passed?

So, I ended up registering the truck in Wyoming. My family has land up there so, for now went that route. In terms of finishing it... It's my daily driver, and has been for the last 10-ish months.

I need to get the right ECU, from a 2000-2002 Yukon Denali. That is the last item I need for the emissions check list. But I am toying with the idea of selling it. I have some other projects in the works, not 100% sure yet, so if someone offered me a good price it would be theirs, but not actively selling. So for now I am leaving it with Wyoming tags and off I go.

There are a few things I would still like to finish :

1. Cruise Control - I have a drive by cable system and just need to sit down and figure out how to loop in the toyota cruise control with the GM ECU.
2. The way I wried in the Tach and Speedo, I am not happy with. Looking into options here with DD signal boxes or other solutions.
3. AC - I need to take the AC hoses I have down to Tubes&Hoses and have new lines made up. I have everything just need to go and get it done.
4. Reverse lights. Never wired them in, and this is me being lazy. One of those items that while on the todo, is always on the bottom of the list.
5. Heat guards. My floor gets warm, I need to build up some heat guards around the trans tunnel due to the new exhaust.

The truck is great. I want to focus on the inside a bit. Like with all 90's land cruisers with leather seats, mine are shot. They were shot when I got the truck. So looking into options there. It's a 95 with 285000 miles on it and going strong.

Your cruiser looks great man. I just bought a 5.3 ls swapped lm7 80 that has no emissions. I'm in Denver so Im working on getting those hooked up. After re reading some of your thread I think I'll go see the referee b4 I weld in the cats and second o2s to make sure I have them where they want them.

If you ever looking to sell, post up on this thread as well. Don’t want to miss out on a chance on this truck. Sweet build. Sorry about the emissions. Thanks for saving another cruiser.
