All right! Installed on my own piggy. Everything is friggin spot on EXCEPT I oversized the hole that secures the metal faceplate to the piece. Super easy change to the CAD model. Check it out:
That's just so awesome! The material you used has got to be stronger and last longer than the stock piece, no?

Well... should be. It's true Nylon 12, so it should at least be as strong as the original (not sure about strongER).
Still hoping @TNpig chimes back in with his thoughts on performance, too, so we get more than a single "data point".

You ever get it quoted in one of the metals?
I had a custom tee fitting printed as a prototype for work... the nylon was 70 bucks printed and shipped, but there were a ton of options of other types of materials. One was some sort of ceramic that was 450 bucks for the same tee. I think the stainless option was 150 or so.... just curious if you got similar material choices and what the higher end filaments might cost.

I'm looking to buy a set of four - i'm going to be working on all my locks next month as I dive in to a bunch of projects with a month off from work.
Did I read correctly that there will be a new cad file and then upload to shape ways and have them make it? Happy to contribute $$ to the CAD file originator.

The results are in....
I tested the bracket and overall I think it was very well done. All the holes line up and the dimensions are very close with exception to the oversized screw hole for attaching the bezels (which @DoubleNickels already mentioned).
I checked for flexing when pulling on the door handle and it looked to have about the same amount of flex as the original bracket. This is to be expected for the Nylon material used and I wouldn't expect any breakages. Flexing is a characteristic of the Nylon and I think it is a good choice for this application.
On the downside, I broke the little plastic clips that keep the rod in place. Does anyone know where to get these?

Yep. I'll have the revised CAD file loaded onto Shapeways tomorrow or Tuesday. I'll provide the link and detailed instructions on how to order, and am also glad to help place the order if such things scare ya.
Regarding contributing $$, I appreciate that however I'd prefer something else. @scrapdaddy was generous enough to loan me this handle piece so I could scan and reverse engineer it. Maybe you and the others could help me locate other unobtainium pieces down the road. The scanning is non-destructive.
Sounds good. I have a fairly complete pig as it was gifted to me in a mostly restored condition, but I have some things I'd like to fix and door locks are high on the list. Happy to contribute whatever I can to help. In addition to my pig, I have a couple bins of random parts.
