At a metal dealer... checking out the bargain barn.Time to fire up the welder.
It’s funny. I shared my desire to chop it awhile back and I was suggested to start a poll and see what you all thought. My gut reaction was ‘why?’ My truck, my choice. All I did was mold myself when my sons dad was w/ me. I won’t make that mistake again unless I feel very very sure I’m okay with it.
Thanks Jason... at 44 I’m finally starting to listen to that inner voice!F, good for you! To each their own and if others don't like it.....'em

I’m on it. I have a heavy pipe maybe 1-1.25” across that is almost my height. It’s thick tho, 1/4”. I’ll see how easily I can cut it and use as a couple cross braces. And there’s a scrap yard in my town but prob not open till Tues. I’ll give them a call.Don’t overlook old ornamental iron at the secondhand stores, craigslist, friendly banter with the fellows at the recycle yard and local fabricators and farmer/ranchers. (The latter being often good people who excel at getting it done and practical “exterior box” thinking.
I scavenged the earth for metals when I was an art student...sigh...years ago.
