We've got bumper!!!

Didn't slide right on but pretty close. You can see some slight tweaking in the frame - must've been from some previous impacts. Not bad at all but enough to need a little help from a mallet and small pry bar (aka screwdriver).

Strange thing happened today - I took the family to lunch in the Cruiser and even had the bikini top off! Unbelievable weather we're having here - drought is going to be ugly this year. Anyhow, so all was working well and I got the bumper installed as seen above. Then we went to a banquet for my daughter and left the Cruiser behind. Got back several hours later and when I opened the garage, the brake lights were on. Very strange. I unplugged the new wiring I did to the master cylinder but that did nothing. Then I detached the brake booster/master cylinder and the pin from the brake pedal (and spring). Couldn't make anything change there. I see brake switch - which I fiddled with but again couldn't get anything to turn the brake lights off. So being as late as it is, I decided to pull the fuse and save it for another time. Figures, things were going pretty darn well. So will have to do some troubleshooting... Anyone have any thoughts?

My smart charger said the battery was down to 27%. Crazy.

Don't you see the correlation here? You hurt her feelings! Why didn't you take the Cruiser to the banquet? =)

Top off and teased up hair, high heels, and short dresses don't mix... ;)

Seat backs on! Bad lighting but you get the idea. Color turned out good and with the painted heater it is looking pretty good back there. And I have some of the mythical headrests being shipped to me will be here next week!

So after nearly draining my battery since my brake light was stuck on, on the suggestion of @Racer65 I swapped out the non-blinking rear lights to LED. That way if it happens again at least the drain will be much slower. I do have a new brake switch on order so hopefully it won't happen again.

Looks pretty darn good, it is difficult to tell the difference.

Great job, Mike!!

Where did you buy the LEDs? Can you provide the part numbers? I'd like to order them now and have them at home when we get back.

Thanks!!

Danny you need two of each of these:

1157-R24-WV 1157 Red 100 Degree
1156-W24-WV 1156 Cool White 100 Degree

I didn't do the flashers (amber) ones as they require a little more than plug and play. Although it sounds reasonably simple based on some of the threads I've seen on the subject. It's just not plug the light bulb in and you're good to go. $28.79 shipped for the 4 bulbs.

Okay so decided while I'm waiting on parts to fix the brake switch, decided to dive into the winch. Oh boy this is an interesting one.

Man all kinds of muck - a little bit of oil and water too. What a mess!

Got the motor disassembled after sacrificing a couple of tools and out came a bunch of rusty chunks and more debris. Any hope for this thing?

Well slowly making progress on this winch. Man, this is a bigger project than anticipated. I guess just like they all are... :)

Getting it cleaned up. Tons of nooks and crannies. And 40 years of build up on it. Hands are pretty much toast.

$30 for new hardware. I'm going to invest in some security nuts/bolts on the suggestion of my buddy. Says winches disappear all the time.

Look what showed up from brown Santa today - woohoo!!!

And a little win on the winch - couldn't figure out how to get the end piece off. The folks over in the Winching and Recovery section helped me out (as did some PB Blaster).
