After my 12V wiper sat on the shelf for over 10yrs before putting it on the Ute I think the grease is mostly dry, it moves quite slowly. I would like to clean and re grease it before going on my fall trip. What kind of grease would I use? If anyone has a good working LHD 12V wiper motor they would part with I would entertain that option. Thanks.

Never mind, it clearly says 12V and looks to be from a 1990-2006 70 series

Hello,

Grease did not work, did it?

Hello,

A while ago I took a wiper motor apart. The motor turned effortlessly but the gears were stuck. I did not disassemble the motor. I focused on the gears instead.

The gears had grease that looked like lithium grease. The same color and thickness. I tried some lithium grease and they started to move.

I assembled the motor and I noticed it turned with the force of my hands. I put it aside and forgot about it. Until now.

I did not check whether lithium grease was in fact the appropriate lubricant.

It might be worth a try.

thanks for the info. I think I will go to a local starter/alternator repair shop and ask them what they recommend, if they still exist.

Due to the above thread and this thread on rebuilding an EDIC motor I have used Molykote 33 for two axle locker motors and an EDIC on a BJ42.

EDIT: that was a few years before the information was available about MolyKote YM-103 though. <---seems like a good solution, but have no direct experience.
