The market is crazy now, in June 2020 I traded in my 2019 Tundra TRD Pro (16k miles) for what I paid, my wife's 2018 4R limited for a 7k loss (26k miles), form what I bought them for. Both were traded to buy a 2017 200 for $57k which I though was average priced at the time. I work from home now and have 2 other trucks (both old land rovers so on a good day its 1.25 trucks, lol).
Now, I'm looking for another 200 for me, and its 100-120k miles for $45k on a 2013-4.
so I'm going to wait.. and probably buy my wife something else to drive and I'll take the 200.
Everything but land rovers and Volvos are crazy priced right now. (there is a reason for that, I know, but lets ignore that shall we...)
Do I think a 2021 Heritage will hold its value, yes.
Do I think it will appreciate like my 1995 Defender 90 NAS that I bought 16 years ago, No, well... not for a long time anyway.
Modern cars at best hold value for the first few years then start the curve down (or if you buy a Land Rover, they fall off the cliff as soon as your drive home).
I think the 200 is going to be a bit of step child, its not classic enough, its just a really good truck. So will have a following, but probably not a cult..
IMHO...
