My first post on here, I've been coming to this site for a few years and it's an incredible wealth of knowledge. I figured it was time to sign up.
I just installed DT headers on my 2007 LX470 (everything stock, 280k miles). It was too late to order OEM gaskets when I read that those are preferred so I may end up putting new gaskets in at some point, we'll see how long the DT gaskets last.
It was myself and 2 friends working on this over several evenings, we're all pretty experienced wrenchers and we found the job to be pretty challenging due to the lack of clearance, particularly on the drivers side. It was difficult to get access to the nuts for removal and even more difficult to try and torque the new ones, we mostly had to tighten by feel.
Next week I'm having Red Run (Ephrata PA, incredible exhaust work for cheap) put in an entire header back exhaust system with new cats, resonator and muffler. I'm thinking of doing 2" off the headers, 2" high flow cats and then 3" or 3.5" the rest of the way. I've read some of the exhaust threads here on the forums and there doesn't seem to be a solid consensus.
I'll post my impressions when it's all done
