I'm looking into ordering some of these for my 100 series. Anyone have any good/bad experiences with these? I'm not into hard core rock crawling, but I would like to protect my Cruiser... Are these overkill? The price does not seem that bad.

Toyota 100 Series Rock Sliders

Thanks

Great quality. He's a great guy to deal with. I'm very happy with my AHC specific set. You could save on shipping and come up and pick them up.

Even it you don't plan on playing in a field of boulders I think they are a good investment b/c as soon as you add tires and raise the TBs, it is only a matter of time before you start testing things out over obstacles. Plus, you get to tell your wife that they are steps and that they will further protect the baby in the event you get T-boned.

They are legit.

I have the new Metal Tech sliders and they are Awesome, work great as a step as well.

I have them. I am very impressed with them.

Saved my rocker panel and door this last weekend. I was leading a group at night and my front tire dropped into a deep hole and slammed down hard on to the White knuckle rock rail. This wasn't rocks either, just really hard packed dirt.

I have one of the first sets of White Knuckle for 100's and they are awesome. I've used them on rocks many times and aside from scratches and dings in the finish they have held up perfectly.

think i have the first or second set from white knuckle for the Lexus....love them. even if you dont think you will crawl rocks...get them. if you remove running boards they act as steps..protect you from door bangers in parking lots....and also good for stumps and other low level obstacles that could ruin your day in addition to rocks.

tires and rock sliders are always my first two changes on a new truck....then lift and other things. cant go wrong with any of the well known slider makers....slee, white knuckle, bior, and metal tech....just pick your poison.

Great, thanks for the feedback guys. I was reading in one thread that said White Knuckle siders stick out a litte to far. I'll take a look at Metal tech. I assume they are all around the same price.

Yes and no. I made the mistake of racing into a car park late as s*** for class. Ended up slamming the truck into a concrete pillar. The slider sticks out slightly further than the door, saving the side of my truck and in return giving quite the scare. They do stick out a bit far for the technical sections of rock gardens. But I'd rather get hung up on the slider than get hung up on the body of the vehicle.

Well what's considered too far, and do you even consider that an issue? The Slee sliders are tucked up real close to the rocker panel. Does that mean that's the only right solution, no.

I prefer the amount the White Knuckle stick out, especially the rear kick out. In fact this was the number one reason I bought them. The kick out helps pivot the rear end when up tight against a tree, rock, etc. Also the overall amount the slider stick out keeps a tree off my door and side of the LC in general.

Wait a few weeks, when we do Main Divide you can take a look at mine and judge for yourself.

I have the no AHC rock sliders. They work perfectly and look great. John at WKOR is great to work with. I had him place SS diamond plate inserts to keep rocks/mud/etc. from dinging my rocker panels and lower door panels. The only part that sticks out is the outer rub rail rear "kick out" and it is not that much. It lines up with the rear door and acts as a great step for my kids. Had them powder coated and then they went on easily. They are bomb proof! I love'em! It depends on your application, but if you want solid bomb proof protection you can not go wrong with WKOR.

Diddo! I totally agree.

Only you would "use" your sliders in a parking lot. You have issues:doh:

But i agree, they really dont stick out too far at all. Additionally, the bit that they do is for the entire reason of the slider in the first place, protection
