Dammit ... I wish I would have thought of that!!! Nice job!!

No lets see how the spacer install goes. Pull the lines down, then pull the top of the clip towards you and get the spacer behind, put the bolt in and then do your best to push it back up to the hole in the frame. This was easier to do with the front lines not tied down yet.

Gotta kid related event to head off to now. Will check back in and expect to see completed pics. Make sure to check the brake line clearances before you start bolting up the slider. The rear line pretty much determines where the slider needs to be placed so it doesn't rub.

Thanks! The reinstall is going to be tough. I’ll try your suggestions.

Have fun at the kid event...I’ll probably still be struggling when you get back...

All done!

Required a quick trip to Ace to get an ever so slightly shorter bolt for that brake line bracket next to the fuel tank.

Extremely limited space to work in there. I wouldn’t bother trying to make the supplied bolt fit that bracket - just get one a few millimeters shorter and it drops right in...with the supplied spacer.

The supplied bolt is on the left...the replacement on the right...apologies for not noting the exact length...

Cleaning everything up now. Will put the diamond plate on last and post some photos.

Definitely took me longer than most, but I’m slow. Was glad to get this finally done!

All done.

Took a bit longer than planned fighting the brake line, but altogether I’m guessing it was about a three hour job for me...working slow.

Thanks to @Cass007 for the tips.

If you wait to put the diamond plate on last, as I did, this is a useful option for the torx driver...otherwise the clearance between the slider and door will make things complicated (probably best to put the diamond plate on before installing the sliders)...

Just threw my WK sliders on. FedEx delivered them at 10:35 and they were all mounted up by noon. No hickups other than dirt in my eyes. I don't get the issues people have with the brake line. I did use a shorter bolt with the rear spacer/ mount.

I did the install solo. A second set of hands and this is a 30 minute one banana job.

I hear you @bencallaway

I’m new to mechanical matters and too much of a perfectionist. The slider install really wasn’t hard at all looking back on it. I’m very happy with them.

Today I’m replacing brakes on all four corners of my son’s rusted Camry from Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Bleeders rusted solid. What fun.

I’m building some experience slowly though! Striving to be a bit quicker now...as you are. Thanks for the reply.

are these flat (step slider ) ? hard to tell from the pics. Looks like a great product !

You can choose the angle you want on the outside tube of the slider (10* or 20*) to fit your expected use. I have a high angle since it's a rock rig, but others have more of a step style.

Congrats to those that just tossed that brake line bolt right on with no problems. I found that bolt to be more of a pain than any part of the head gasket replacement was. Love these sliders, they have help up nicely in the past year.

Hey there @toyofan

@Cass007 is exactly right. You can customize the angle. I decided for a larger angle with the diamond plate to bolt on top because I use the sliders for protection and for easier access to the roof.

I’ve been extremely pleased. Really an excellent choice. White Knuckle was easy to work with and very open to options. Highly recommended.

I struggled with the brake lines as mentioned in this thread, but it eventually came together. Great choice if you go down this route.

Whiteknuckle is actually my 3rd set of sliders. The first 2 sets were from very well known suppliers.

The very first set had slotted holes on the plates for the outriggers and allowed the slider to ride up the frame and damage the body. I welded on some 1-1/2" angel iron so as to cover the U-bolts and capture the bottom of the frame. All good except that with no cat protection and the front passenger side outrigger passing under the 2 cats were they meet, over time that outrigger got destroyed.

The second set was complete garbage and I had to replace both front fenders after my first wheeling trip. That was after heavily cutting the outriggers to avoid hitting the pinch welds just to get them installed.

The only thing that I changed from what WhiteKnuckle delivered was the 4 bolts used to attach the passenger front outrigger to the frame. I used OEM part number 90119-08863. These are the bolts that have a captured oversized thick washer and hold on the front plate to the frame under the radiator.

Got back from MOAB a couple of weeks ago without incident.

This is a great product!

Enjoy the brake line relocation. All the write-ups I read were discussing how the pass side was more difficult with the cats. That one went on in ~10 mins. Moving the brake line took forever for me.

These sliders are awesome! I would for sure buy again - however - make sure you detail and send pics of the cat placement before you order. My PO must have had some work done on the cats and the sliders did not fit as ordered - I had to get cats moved - didnt cost much but FYI!

John and Natalie (I think they’re the WKS peeps) are good people!

I have discarded my factory cats on my 1995 truck for a single one with the exhaust now going over the frame. After talking with WhiteKnuckle they suggested I actually buy their 93/94 sliders as the cat protection is layed out a little different.

Perfect solution for me.

I ended up removing the rear cat on my '97 and got the best of both worlds. No CEL and system still passes inspection, plus got the clearance I needed on the rear cat cover to not touch.

So I’ve enjoyed my sliders and already put them to good use scuffing them pretty good. Shortly after install I got a gnarly rattle from my rear Cat. Evaluating my options. Exhaust hanger there has seen better days. Don’t want to take a grinder to the slider though that would be the easiest.

How’d you go about this?
