This is the best pic I have of the cruiser now, I will get a better one of the full side to show how it sits later.

Nolen, are those 33s? Standard 285/65 R 18? Looks great!

I thought originally you had decided to go with 865s, any particular reason you went with 866s instead?

Thanks,

Nice shoplights Mississipi boy!

Dood, its fawking hot here. I was missing a light fixture so I went to Home Depot and got myself a fan/light kit for $65 :)

Those are 33's. 325/60/18's I think. Terra Grapplers.

I went with the 866's because my wife is going to use the Cruiser some to haul her horses so I needed them.

Turns out I have 1/2' rake F/R and am VERY happy with the ride .

Unlike Schotts, when I have bad info out there I don't want it up to confuse the world :flipoff2:

I feel the love!

For difficult off-road use like my truck was built for, the 863 works perfectly since adding the Slee Rear Bumper. :)

So...a...863 on a 100 isn't "bad info". Sorry about that. :D

Bump an old thread. I just bought some used OME 866's. Anyone running these and have feedback?

Along with lifting the vehicle they're more stiff than stock. Not objectionably so, but you notice it. I bought them with the intention of adding a heavy rear bumper, so hopefully after the BIOR they will mellow out a bit. I also have the OME t-bars and on trails the front is much more compliant than the rear.

I have the 865 now. I bought the 866 for better towing and a rear bumper some day when Slee runs a big sale. (Haha)

Did you buy the ones that were on ebay a couple days ago?

Nope, I got'em from the mud classifieds, but not sure if they were related.

I've added what I've needed to my 100 as new things are added or installed on my rig. My goal has been to retain the best ride possible and make necessary changes when more weight is added. For example I didn't replace my stock tbars until I added my aftermarket heavier front bumper. I've also been running OME 865's with 1" coil spacers to give me 3" of lift in the rear and help with clearance of my 315/75/16 BFG KM2's. The 865's have served me well with basically stock weight in the rear. I have OME 863's in the garage waiting to be installed at the same time I add a new rear bumper. The Slee website spring page is a good reference for anyone trying to determine what will work best with their setup and the amount of weight over stock you plan on running.

Don't you guys find that anything less than an 863 is too soft?

An OME 863 is about the stiffest spring available for a 100 rated for 3" of lift in the rear and 300-500lbs over stock setup. You shouldn't run these unless you have a heavier aftermarket rear bumper minimum.

If you are waiting to use those 866's with a rear bumper, perhaps a BIOR with duel swing outs, you might want to get the 30mm spacers too. Your soft upper coils will be a thing of the past with the added weight.

I saw virtually no change in ride or trim height with 866 coils when I added the bumpit rear bumper, swing out, hi lift and tire to rear. Ride is very controlled off road.

I have 863's. They are stiff and tall. Even with a bunch of stuff in the truck they still don't flex that well. But the stance is much better and I can pull my trailer without the lowrider rear end. Who cares if you have a wheel off the ground. Thats what lockers are for.

PS: I am running Farinvail's old 866. ;)

According to ARB's website, 865s are listed as the only 3" rated, and that is showing a heavy spring...

I had been running Toytec's Superflex coils on my 4runner with airbags and that seemed to be a perfect combo...

I am looking for a 3" coil that rides comfortable on road between trips. I will drop in my airbags, to inflate when I load up for trips..... So am I looking at 865s?

Slee's site said 865s are 2". I am running the 863's Even before I added the drawers I thought the ride was great and no need for airbags when weighing down

Best thing to do is talk to Christo about what you want to do. Being local to his shop does have its advantages

I have the 865, no rear jumper seats and stock bumper. Ride is nice and plush, I am also running stock length replacement Bilstein HD shocks.

It's odd that Slee says the 865's are 2" because when I bought my lift form them they advertised it as being a 1.5" medium. When I poke with them on the phone they said it was a 1.5" lift.
I am running 865's now without rear seats and rear bumper. I plan on adding drawers in the near future and I would assume that with the rear seats removed the added weight of the drawers would be a wash . making no difference in height. I wouldn't mind a touch more lift though and that is why I may add spacers.
Anyone know which spacer adds X amount of lift?
