Hi,

I’m having a little bit of trouble finding body mount bushing kit for my 2/1990 FJ80. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The ones on my vehicle are petrified. My hardware is also pretty rough..

Thank you,

I would have been better off getting a boat.. I was looking at PartsSouq, it looked like a lot of it was NLA.

I’ll call up Toyota. Thank you OG.

Is there any company that makes a complete kit to purchase? I found one on Flatoutoffroad, but missing hardware.

Thank you RC! I miss my RC51 after selling mine after it went down!

For that kit, I saw that, but it doesn’t say it will fit for a 2/1990. You think there is any difference between the 90 and 91?

Don’t use poly bushings.

Get OEM rubber or aftermarket rubber. Febest makes them if you want to be cheaper than OEM, get those on Rockauto.

Cheers

Yup. Don't go Poly. Get OEM Rubber. If the factory ones lasted 30+ years, no reason not to replace with another set of factory. Yes, it's spendy.

Poly = no dampening

I thought the US spec 80 rear bushings were NLA; my notes say to get them from the diesel 80s.

I’m looking for easy. As I don’t want to piece together all the parts. This one sets me up for bushings, just need to go to Ace for hardware as needed.

Unless someone knows of where I can get a full set up.

I just got done rebuilding the motor. I damn near blew my load on the motor build, cooling, and all the other stuff that goes into it.

I still need to get my knuckle rebuild kid, have someone fix my front air locker, T case service, interior leather, and get my new gauges done up.

I might be sleeping in my LC if my wife sees the next statement.. aftermarket rubber bushings will be fine. If there was a reasonable priced oem kit I would entertain

I too just did an engine rebuild, and in the last couple years have done lift, lockers, gears, wheels, tires, armor, interior, stereo, etc. I get it, trust me!

Ha yep! So far I’m two years I’m at fully rebuild motor, entire cooling system, suspension, transmission install, vehicle shipping, stereo, ac compressor, power steering rebuild/lines, brakes.

Upcoming, body bushings, transfer case service, knuckle rebuild, new brake lines, leather interior, sliders, windshield, fix gauge cluster oil pressure gauge, new auxiliary gauge pod. And whatever else comes.. should have got a boat..

I fitted this set a few months ago. Quality was okay. I’d suggest fitting new sleeves where required. Hardware does not need to be OEM.

You're going to trust non-OEM hardware to connect your body to your frame? What's the advantage?

Specter Off Road lists them. They even have used versions in some cases if you're trying to save money. They used to list a complete kit but I don't see it anymore. Might be worth giving them a call.
