When dealers don't have them, backordered for 2 months, you bought the remaining ones at partsouq, megazip has 1, but you need 24, where else do you go?
Yes, ideally. Agree 100%.You don’t go to a website or online retailer.
You engage with a parts professional who can snoop around and get you real information about availability of the parts you need.
Typically I can source things myself either through UAE or Japan. In this case, I ordered 24 from each of them and have received six. I ordered 24 from my local Toyota, and another Toyota dealership who pulls from a different warehouse. I received none of those. To my knowledge it is still obtainable, but I have yet to receive 24 of the 72 that I need currently. You don’t go to a website or online retailer.

I DO believe that "parts professional" is on the official endangered species list, unfortunately. You don’t go to a website or online retailer.

As @OGBeno said, just gotta wait. Toyota don't have massive warehouses where they keep 10,000 of a given part in stock, they keep minimal inventory and do small-run batches when they need to in order to satisfy orders. Lead time is in weeks to months. Dealers will keep their own minimal inventory in various regions to try and avoid delays. If all the dealers you can access are out of stock, and Toyota Japan is out of stock, you either need to shop around for other sources of inventory (IE, third party resellers, overseas suppliers), or wait for the backorder to be fulfilled.Typically I can source things myself either through UAE or Japan. Thank you for the explanation- I learned something new!As @OGBeno said, just gotta wait. If you're having trouble finding a new part anywhere, and a used part isn't suitable, your usual workflow should basically be this:
1. Have an actual conversation with a (preferably good) actual Toyota dealer who can confirm on their internal system if a part is still in production
2. Order said part from the dealer
That will get you an actual order placed there and then which is on the list to be fulfilled by Toyota. If the part isn't out of production, it should be met, but be aware some parts could leave you waiting for months, it really comes down to the production schedule out of Japan. Otherwise you can leave it and look again in 3-6 months, hoping it hasn't gone out of production in that time.
