So these go in the head in one of the 3 screw in cooling system connections on the 2 f head. I need to know which one this combo goes into and what it connects back to.

Goes in the back of the heat next to the temp sensor. If your putting this into a 73 you might want to change it out to the one from a F engine with a shut off valve. It's for the heater in the cab, runs over the top of the valve cover attached to the cowl. On the 2F there is a valve to shut this off mounted just above where it goes thru the cowl to the heater. With this setup you will have no control over the heater core.

No no I was born in 1973, the 40 is a 71 and the motor is a 79. Got it? :)

Oh and I am putting the heater control valve in. If this is from an F like you say, then what goes into the 2F?

Your's doesn't have the valve because in 79 there was a valve mounted on the cowl that lets you adjust the temp from in the cab. The early models had to be adjusted under the hood at the valve on the head. If you already installing the valve on the cowl your good to go.

Thanks that was what I was looking for.

It is the connector from the air cleaner to the valve cover.

I really hope that you are pulling my chain on that one because there is no way that these connect to an air cleaner or the valve cover.
