Hello all! Just wondering what wheel and tire combos can be put in my newly purchased 1993 70 series Prado KZJ78? It’s lifted only 2 inches because I don’t want to have to get a stool for the wife to get in but I still would like beefier tires on it. Pics with specs would be a GREAT help please! Thank you!

Can I still ask the question, Sir? I’m registered on the site, just not in the 70 Section ( been in the 60 sectiin for a couple of years .
Ask away..... :)
I’m just a peon on this sight so you certainly don’t need my permission.

Does anything from the Lexus in the US fit the kzj78?

Not sure what size rim you’re looking to get, but tall and skinny work best, otherwise you’ll have rubbing issues. I just got a set of 235/85R16’s for mine. 255/85R16 work well with a small lift. My previous Prado had 31x10.5R15’s.

I believe @JimmyPrado has some photos of 255’s and a 2” lift on his rig. Not sure how much wider you could go, a 255/85 is about a 10x33” tire, I test fitted a 32x11.5x15 on my old Prado and IIRC it barely fit with no lift. You could also play with backspacing/spacers to get a different stance, but there is always a risk of having them rub.

I had 33x12.5 R15 on mine with a 40mm lift. 15x8 rim with -24 backspacing IIRC. Rubbed a bit so I had to pack the bumpstops down a little, but worked well.

32x11ish is probably a pretty good size too.

Cheers
Clint

I have about a 60mm lift and run 235/85R16. But I have run 35x12.5R15 before. They were on a 15x8" rim with 0mm offset. They rubbed at full steering turn. However, I believe if the rims had a more negative offset they would have been fine. Although I would have needed fender flares at that point, and I'm not sure how well they would have tucked then either.
