Having a heck of a time finding seat covers for my '94 Prado J78. Are these seats used in any other Toyota? Not digging the 90's vibe...

I haven't heard of them crossing over to anything already offered in the US. I know Escape Gear makes covers for the 70 series, but I don't know if they are a match for the Prado.

The black ones you see on a lot of the imported trucks can be purchased from Yahoo Japan. I believe you can get them for all 3 rows.

Can confirm. Yahoo Japan is a PITA unless you can read Japanese and have a Japan mailing address. There are at least a few "auction agents" that show you a translated version of the Yahoo Auction pages (think Japan version of eBay) and will act as a bidding and shipping agent for you - you tell them what you want and what amount you'll bid, they bid on the item, receive it to a Japan address they control, and then re-ship it to you at your location. I've used it for both new and used Prado parts I was having difficulty locating elsewhere. I've seen Prado seat covers for sale, though have not purchased them myself. Searching for stuff can be a challenge as you're bouncing "normal" English terminology against a web page that might have translated very awkwardly to English.

I've used Aleado... have had flawless experiences with them, but I can't say they are any better or worse than other options. They do require you create an account and establish a balance large enough to cover your bid plus shipping costs. The translations are not perfect, so it is a little clunky and possible you could end up buying something that isn't what you thought.

It helps to save a notepad file with search terms. It is what I use for buyee for yahoo auctions and such. I had a really good file built up over the years but I somehow lost it. Been building it back up.

Those seats (basic shape) look somewhat similar to those in a 77 Series and if I remember correctly, the Escape Gear covers required some modifications to fit properly.

Just have to make a small hole for the knob on the driver's seat. Not sure if the Prado has that knob though. The knob is held on by a c-clip so you can remove it and the measure what you need to cut for the shaft itself, not the knob and then re-install the knob after you slide on the seat cover.

Escape gear is a pretty tight fit on the ZX/Prado seats though, not sure if I would use them again despite the fact I love their seat covers.

I recall the seat bolsters on the 77 Series being an issue with the Escape Gear covers.

Still slides on though, but just a tight fit. There are pictures I posted here already if one wanted to search. It fits better if you don't try to slide it over the knob.

I was going to suggest Wahlmart or other similar places ;)
Looking for something a little nicer than Walmart seat covers. The passenger side pic in this truck is what I had in mind...

We took the Prado to breakfast this morning and I took a peak at our seat covers. They are made by DEFI, and match the passenger seat you referenced above. The other thing to do is try to get seats out of an EX model Prado. They'll be the same color as the door card in the above photo.
