Hey Cody,

If you're planning to add the lift in just a couple of weeks after you get tires, you really ought to consider getting the 35s now, instead of spending the money for tires twice... I picked up the same tires as ToolsRUs (Nitto TerraGrapplers 315/75/16) many months ago, and ran them with the stock suspension for about a month with no clearance issues. I'm now running the Jsprings (wish I could afford the 6" lift!)...

ToolsRUs has :princess: 295's:princess:

If you want people to look at you and think to themselves "Hey that guys is rediculous".

Sell the LX, buy a Jeep Wrangler and a mullet wig and drive around with the top down blasting David Allan Coe on the stereo.

Now that is rediculous.

Thats every 5th vehicle on the road in Northern AZ...lol.

It'll probably be some time before I can throw down the chunk of change for a 4 to 6" lift, so I figured I'd get as aggressive looking tire as possible on the stock suspension and slowly work my way up.

I tried searching for 33" related topics but didn't see much different than your average slightly offroad tread tires.

Any suggestions? Pictures?

I just think the stockers just look too.....hm, plump? Bulbous? I dunno.

I'd like them as ridiculous looking as possible, just short of running tank tracks or snow chains...lol.

Go for function not looks. You Arizona folk are all about the bling. Oh, and buy the lift for function...NOT LOOKS.

I also really like my 33 truxus mtrs.

Geez...I can't buy a set for looks, and then a set for function?

You can, but like I said before, a better idea is to just get one that will do the job, and just send me the extra $$$:grinpimp:

I say go for looks. Firestone has the best looks IMO for an on-road tire. MTR's just too common for looking too good. You could go the other way and get some Douglas Touring (good tire BTW) tires and make it look slammed?

J/K. I'm seriously thinking about Dunlop MTs how can you BEAT that price?

Cody,
You defiantly can and I hope you do, you should be able to build it exactly the way you envision it to be. It’s your truck.

To add to your list of different tire choices out there, I recycled an old pic that I love of the Mickey Thomson Baja Claws. It basically looks great on any truck.:D

I would not get directional tires myself...

I'm the newest of the new here, but I just got back from the tire shop with 285 Revo's on my 94 cruiser. They seem to work pretty well and are quiet on the highway. I have them on my Tundra and Cherokee as well. I don't know if you have Cooper tires in your area, but the cooper S/Ts come in a 285/75R 16 size. I have 31 inch ones on my Cherokee as my Winter tires and they are aggressive/quiet on the highway and almost no one else has them. My 2 cents.

For one, every time you go to rotate, the tires have to be pulled off of the rims so that the directional tread is facing the right way when a D/S tire rotates to the P/S.

For two, they make a lot more road noise.

There's two for ya.

I had directionals for quite some time. I think I prefer the versatility of non-directional tires. I like the 5 tire rotation and you do not have the 50/50 chance that your spare is going to be going in the wrong direction...:o

Something else also popped into my head about that. Why are directional tires directional? One would assume they are because they work better or clean better or something like that. If that is in deed the case it would mean that they may possibly work poorly on the opposite direction. Soooo, if you get hung up going forward, your tires are gonna suck at backing up..........
