I've been running the rotella T4 15w40. Have not had issues finding it. Every time it goes on sale at canadian tire i grab a 5 gallon pail. Usually just under $20.oo/gal. I'm 3 oil changes ahead right now. I went with what p.o. had in his service records that came with the truck

Nothing wrong with the Rotella, particularly considering the price for 8 qts

Ok, quoting myself here. Just did an oil change & decided to switch back to Mobil one 15w-50; ( I’ve used it in the past, not sure why I switched to Rotella which is also a great oil for our 2f’s…but Mobil One it is!)@Spike Strip Thanks, I’ve got 1 more Rotella oil change on the shelf & then I may try the Mobil 15-50. I’ve considered this for some time but I had those 2 concerns. I know it’s a good oil & much easier to find,
On another forum someone posted a response directly from Mobil regarding their zinc content of their 15w-50. This was posted in 2021…Mobil says 1300 ppm. Just an FYI.
Yes, I think for California temps, the 15w50 is now the better choice. And again, the wear testing done at race labs showed the M1 the best
