What type of hydraulic fitting is on the high pressure (input) side of the steering box? (1 Viewer)

e.g. if one were to adapt it to a standard hydraulic AN/JIC fitting, what type of adapter would they need?

Are you taking about this one:

Actually I'm now not sure that's correct. The OEM power steering hose isn't an o-ring type, I don't think. It looks more like a flare kinda thing? @Golgo13 ?

inverted flares. I ditched my factory paper clip and just ran AN -6 fittings and braided lines with an aftermarket PS cooler

That is likely on the low pressure side tho - you ran AN-6 on the high pressure side too?

16x1.5 inverted flare

Been running that exact fitting on my box for a good while with -6 hydraulic hose to my pump. Converted pump to -6 jic as well. Easy spares.

Some day I’ll convert the return side to push-lok.

Confirm x4, 16mm high-pressure, 17mm low-pressure. Both inverted flares in the box. I am running all -6 on everything except for the return from my remote reservoir to the pump, which is -10. My high pressure side fittings are all Aeroquip JIC high-pressure line and fittings rated for something like 2500 or 2800 psi. Return side are all regular aluminum AN fittings and black nylon hose. Works good except for my pump which is messed up.
The regular aluminum fittings are not rated for more then a few hundred PSI. I used to have a high-pressure side line with the regular aluminum fittings and it worked on the street but as soon as you got on any rocks it would instantly burst.
