is the oil pressure too high?

Not having much experience driving the 80 series….what is the normal operating range of the oil pressure? There isn’t a red zone though like the engine temp gauge does but does that mean the pressure is ok? Oil level is ok and the vehicle is running fine. I do have knock sensor errors and transmission fluid temperature error which I know is caused by faulty connectors. Almost certain that transmission fluid temperaturep problem has nothing to do with this oil pressure gauge.

Either your gauge is acting up, your oil sender is acting up(most likely). No way to know unless you were to check with a mechanical oil pressure gauge at the oil cooler/ oil sender port. Or just throw parts at it and start by replacing the sender, then instrument cluster gauge.

If we're talking throwing parts...
Definitely do the upper Dingle arm Bushings. :wrench: :slap:

Id guess your sender is playing up

your 80 is idling according to the tacho so the oil pressure reading on the gauge should be between the bottom line and between the 2nd & 3rd line (half way in the range) at normal operating temp idle, more likely the 2nd one
Does it move higher when RPM's increase?

unscrew the sender and spray carb cleaner in the orifice of the sender to clear out the internals and test to see if any different

Low oil pressure is a far more likely problem on a 1FZ-FE than high oil pressure. And that isn't all that likely. I'm with the peanut gallery on the sender.

Mine reads the same way. I have not placed an actual gauge on the line to measure pressure.

As long as the needle keeps moving up, I'm ok with it.

Mine is like that at start up and comes down after it warms up

Mine looks like yours at speed and comes down a little at idle.
Like @BILT4ME, as long as it's moving, it's indicating pressure.

Mine also reads pretty high pressure, especially depending on the type of oil. 40 weight definitely shows up more than 30 weight on the scale.
