View attachment 2821086It took easily 6 beers time to clean up the transfer case. Could not have done it without the parts cleaner. This is how it’s sitting now, waiting on the clutch kit and machinist to resurface the flywheel
Yer gonna love it! What are you running in the diffs and tires?

Edit: took me at least a case of beers worth of time without the parts washer…

To tell the truth, it was probably 6 beers an hour for me. I didn’t get into the differential and count teeth so no idea on the gearing. But I’m guessing stock- so 3.70 (i think)?
BFG 33x10.5r 15 with 1/4” spacers

Call up cruiseroutfitters and toss some 4.10’s in there to complete this package. Thank me later.

Alex, you forgot to ad in the 2 hour heavy duty cycle we ran the case halves through in the dishwasher. I don't recommend this to anyone that shares their common quarters with a significant other :)

What will different diff gearing do, bring down RPM? Give me more torque? I’m new to the LC world and learning. Any info and opinions are appreciated

It’ll get your speedometer to be accurate with the larger tires and lower your RPMs. It lets that new 5 speed do what it’s intended to do.

Maybe that’s backwards…. Either way, the 4:10 gearing in the diffs with 33’s will set your Speedo correct and you’ll climb through the gears easier. At least that was my experience. I changed my diffs out before the 5 speed swap and the Speedo was off ~ 5-10 mph. I find that I climb through 1-2-3 faster than I did with the 4 speed.
