Just out of curiousity what are people using for oil and filter in their 100 and how often do you change it. Anybody burning oil?
I have used M1 for years in all my vehicles (even my snowblower) usually with a M1 filter or Napa gold filter. My change intervalls are approx 5k miles. Next oil change I would like to send to blackstone lab for analysis (I have suspicion that it breaks down in severe conditions and higher rpm's at 3500 miles). In my opinion the 2uz-fe is very forgiving as far as neglected oil changes with its overall design.

Mobile 1. Toyota filter. Per Blackstone Lab's recommendation based on analysis I have been extending the interval between oil changes. The next one will be 8,500 - 9,000 miles. The last one was a little under 8,500. They didn't think 10,000 miles would be a problem but I want to ease up to that number. 178,000-ish miles on the LC and it does not consume any fluid other than fuel.

Similar to above in oil and mileage, but I use the M1-209 filter. With Blackstone's help, I've settled into a 8500-9000 mile interval as well.

Mobile 1 and Toyota filter every 10k miles. About every six months.

That's based on my SWAG (scientific wild ass guess).

Mobil 1 5w30, Toyota filter, every 5k miles. Never uses any oil. These engines per blackstone are very easy on oil. 10k oil/filter changes would not be a problem but I like to change every 5k miles.

I'm different... Amsoil highest performance synthetic every 8k. Running amsoil filter currently but going back to OEM next change.

Mobile1 High Milage with Mobile1 filter, was changing every 7,500 miles but this time I'm going 10k based on this:

Castrol GTX 5W-30, genuine Toyota oil filter, every 3K to 5K miles

Mobile 1 and M1-209 filter every 10k. Bought the truck with 135k on it and it now has 248k. Running like a champ. Not burning any oil or leaking any either.

I noticed many using the Toyota filter; is that the Japan version or the YZZD3?

M1-209 filter, Rotella T6 5W-40 synthetic (it's my religion), 5k mile OCI. Not sure if I'll stick with 5W-40 or move to 5W-30 like everyone else seems to be doing...

M1,,5w30, and not picky about the filter. I'm a thousand times more concerned about the cooling system functionality than the oil. Not that MUD is the end-all, be-all, but in seven years of 100 ownership, I don't recall a single oil related issue. (I also don't recall a single useful thing that Blackstone had ever said in terms of real world impact, other than "keep paying us more $"). Cooling system issues will, on the other hand, kill a 2UZFE in pretty short order - as opposed to "slightly elevated levels of strontium 87, try extending your interval to 6,732.45 miles and send us forty-five bucks so we can tell you more crap without context..." I guess my philosophy about oil in the 2UZFE is, "change it, use a filter, and drive the sucker."

Interesting to see the amount of people using M1 and the lab results thank you. My 2000 LC calls for M1-102 filter but I see others using a M1-209. Is that a better filter? Any of you running 10k between changes change your filter out at 5k?

I understand the 209 is a bit longer so that would equate to more filtering capacity and a tad more oil capacity. I'm going with the 209 next change.
