If it were for setting the window adhesive, it could make some sense. But usually things like this would be removed by the plant or the dealer if it doesn't have a function later on...

I'll ask around at work and see if anyone knows. We might still have them on some stuff. I'm not sure now.

I thought it was a mounting tab for a cup holder when in camp...:deadhorse:

"Door Glass Run" The end! eeh ah, eeh ah!

Not the glass RUN; the run is the rubber part.

This is 62367-60010 Clip, Door Window Glass, RH/LH (from the part catalog)

So back to the question what is its true purpose now that we know what it is? If I said guide I would definitely agree with it being used to help the window when rolling up, but it's a clip for...?

When driving down the highway, with one window down, roll it up slowly, and you'll notice a suction. I'm pretty sure its there to guide the glass back in the track when rolling the windows up at speed. Try it next time your on the highway and you'll see.

I believe it is to help reduce window rattle.

I ended up leaving them in out of doubt. The new runs are really smooth and after cleaning the window tracks and motor, my passenger window rolls down and then back up in just under 10 seconds!!! Onto putting together the driver's side.

It is definitely a guide to ensure that the glass goes into the window run when you are winding the window up on the highway. My work van has them as well and they are essential on that Mitsubishi piece of crap.

DYK.....

I've been told this is officially the correct answer.
You can change the title to *SOLVED*

they're definitely for guiding the glass into the channel... they're attached at the midpoint or in the corner where the window is floppiest

yea, that's now a word...

I called it in post # 15!!!

My shoulder hurts from patting myself on the back.......
