Got some more parts cleaned and ready for the motor to go in on the 40.

Started blacking out the chrome on the 62. The grill was chipping so it's all going black. Sanded the Toyota emblem with some fine grit sandpaper to give it a brushed / satin look. Bumpers will be going black soon. That will have to do until I get the 40 back together then I plan to build some HD bumpers for the 62.

Tom,
Just sitting here at 31C eating my NZ plum ?

It is winter here but this level of snowfall in Wellington is unprecedented.

I'm at work now and public transport (buses and trains) is being withdrawn from service as I type this message ... because all the roads around here are becoming so treacherous.

I wonder how I will get home? :frown::frown:

Edit next day: Trains stayed running last night (but had some disruptions/delays)... but the main bus companies in the region (including the one I work for) did cease operating at 7pm due to the ice/snow.
And I got home OK (to have an early night for a change) because a workmate dropped me off in his car driving very slowly and carefully.
Tonight I'm driving the BJ40 into work so no worries about getting home. It is still bitterly cold with occasional snow/hail and it looks like it could be the same for tomorrow! Of course I'm hoping for traffic chaos again (yipee) and to be able to get good photos of stuck vehicles this time .... but then there's a lot of luck in being in the right place at the right time as you know.

Got a new muffler put in on Saturday and also fixed my turn signals. The new muffler sounds good (cheap turbo muffler). Time to get it inspected!

Took it to the muffler shop and he didn't like the way is was originally routed but from a picture here mine looks just like this.

And I put the top back on, got tired of waiting for summer.

DMV passed that? with the bezel in that position?

I guess I need to clean up my post, sorry for any missinformation I may have posted.
I just bought this vehicle and it had a lost title with four bill of
sale transfers. The guy at the DMV the first time I went wouldn't even look at the paperwork I had. Started talking about due dilligent effort to contact the original owner from 1979 to get a statement of release of interest, then a bond and my brain went numb after that. :crybaby:
So I went through all of the paperwork myself, got it organized and was able to show a chain of ownership and legal transfer of same and also the second time around I got a nice person who knew thier job :)

Someone who did there job.... at the DMV............holy ****!!!!!!!!!!!! Your a lucky bastard!!!!

No Joke!!! IT took me three trips to the DMV and I had a clear title. THey didn't believe that My grandpa had owned my 40 for over 35 years. (They also didn't beleive my purchase price grandpa's buddy wrote in $5.00)

I put a new brake booster on my rig from FJ40 MATT
WOrks great, doesn't leak, now just need to bleed em and we're good to go.
