....in my opinion an unnecessary annoyance when Toyota gave us a filter window on the 100.

I take the skid plate off on our 100 for an oil change as well because I've yet to get the filter off without getting oil on the top of the plate.

Aside from the desire to keep oil off the truck (and driveway) it's a good opportunity to inspect the engine from below. I wouldn't have found a failing water pump had I not seen the pink crusties around the timing belt plastic which was not visible from above. For most users this is only a 3x per year event and it's just wise to take a few extra minutes to ensure everything is is proper order. This is especially true with an aging fleet. Inspect for leaks, worn hoses, chaffed wires, torn boots, etc. while you're under there.

Just seeing this. It was all made in my garage with items from the local hardware store. I would need to look up the measurements and get back to you. Seems like there were three different lengths for the legs.

Appreciate it. I was able to do 14in for the front legs and I think it was either 15” or 16” in the back to keep it level.

Fixed another loose LCA bolt from a recent alignment. These lazy techs and their lack of torque!

At least the clunk & pop is now gone. I had been chasing it for weeks and I’m glad it’s not the CV or LCA bushing. It was the rear cam bolt, which is hard to get to on the ground.

Changed the oil (5k miles, 0W-20 Kirkland and OEM filter)
Installed a Fumoto valve. Used the gasket that came with it, looks like it’s not leaking.
Did my first 5 tire rotation.
Cleaned up the shop and went across the street to the brewery for a pat on the back and a beer.
Might wash the truck tomorrow.

I finally got around to installing the ARB Diff breather and air locker purge valve in the hopes that it will solve the puking air locker solenoid issue. The gratuitous use of zip ties left me feeling dirty and I was surprised to fine zero gear oil in the airline when I cut it for the purge valve… hopefully my diagnosis is correct and I’ve solved this issue.

The purge valve ended up in the most inaccessible location so hopefully I never need to purge anything.

My next job will be more of a vanity project, i caved and decided to ditch the wood and go all leather. The leather on this wheel feels nicer than what came on the HE wheel.

Just new OEM wheel but the all leather one. I’m going to send my current one out for a customer job once I find a good place, i’m not sure what I want to have done to it yet.

Had some time to go out and try my new inflate/deflate system from Thor’s lightning.

I started with 35psi and deflated down to 20psi. This took only 3 min to do all 4. I’d say that’s at least twice as fast as my old method of doing one at a time pulling the core with my ARB deflator tool. There is a bit more set up time to hook up all the hoses but I’d say this still only takes a minute or two.

I then inflated from 20psi back up to 35psi. This took 3 1/2 minutes to do all 4. This is soooo much faster than my old viair (400p) one at a time system which often took 4-5 min each.

Overall, I’d say I’m very happy and even pretty surprised by it. I will have to do some more testing to see how consistent and durable the system is over time but initial impressions are very good!

I went and got my tires rotated and balanced on my 2015 LX570 w/ 130,000 miles. Then I ended up replacing the rotors and brake pads on all four corners.
This may be just another day to others, but it was a big step for me.

Four months ago, and a week after I finished up my last PM job. I was getting ready to bust out my spark plug job, and replace the fluids on the front differential. Instead, I ended up having a thoracic aortic aneurysm & dissection.
I'm really lucky to be alive!
46 years old and I thought I was having a heart attack. Instead they found a tear on my ascending aorta. I ended up being rushed to another hospital and having emergency open heart surgery. They cracked my chest open, put me on the heart & lung bypass machine, dropped my body temp to 34 degrees celsius, and replaced my ascending aorta from right above the root on my heart, to where the ascending aorta meets the descending aorta on my hemiarch.

I'm currently on a 50lb weight restriction. So my daughter, and my other daughter's boyfriend came over and did all the heavy lifting and torques specs for me.
It just felt good to have a wrench in my hands
