Wow that’s amazing.. is this your trade?!
Sadly no, my work is more lame. Just can't bring myself to pay for something I can do myself. This mindset good or bad leaves me with very little free time. Next is a roof rack for RTT and awning.

Getting a new car sure is a lot of work. 😁

put the stock exhaust back on after 9 days. The dirty deeds 14” is a bit too loud for me, personally. What’s really interesting is the amount of low end torque I got back going to the stock muffler. If anyone in southern california is interested the dirty deeds exhaust is available, maybe someone who plans to tune their 200.

The low end torque loss comment here has got me worried. Do you think without a tune the exhaust work is negative on performance?

Can I ask for some pics and info on how you built that drawer system? I am in need of one, and cannot force myself to buy some overpriced ready product... PM me if you will :)

I had a very nice roof-rack attached. CNC steel and aluminium, pretty light at 23 kg (some 50 pounds). Mounts at 4 original mounting points (original roof bars mount only at 3).

Just installed a new Interstate 27F.
The old one was about 4 years old. It worked this morning until it didn’t. Tried to start and the battery was door nail dead. No warning. One dead cell with zero water. Good thing I was home and had the time the cash and a ride to go get it 🥵

You have the best color 200 on the forum

Whenever I go to the middle east during the year, I love the sandstorm/quick sand color, that USDM LC 200 doesn't get

Removed one of the 3rd row seats so the new pup could look out the window. Very easy mod.

Added the Kaon barrier to continue the dog proofing. Very high quality and a clever, solid mount. Next up will be canvasback cargo liner.

Hide-A-Key - FINALLY found a good solution after a few false starts.

When out hiking / biking / fishing / shooting / etc - concerned about dunking / dropping / losing / breaking a key. Get back after a few hours or days out, and you are SOL standing next to your 'cruiser saying to your buddy "but I thought *you* had the key...".

Cheap ($24), pretty sturdy like a micro Pelican case, quite strong magnets along with a slot for a ziptie or velcro. Most important - fits the fob perfectly. Here is the Amazon link where I found it.

To keep the keyless system from recognizing it, wrapped in thick aluminum foil before putting in the case.

Going to have to be careful now of the Venn diagram of who I park next to and who reads this thread... :)

I’ve had mixed luck with keys. My Mazda key was sealed with a gasket and i would zip it in my board shorts whenever going to the beach or pool and have no issues.
The Benz keys, not so much. Bricked one or two of those.
I took the LC key apart and it seems to have a rubber gasket, guess only one way to find out!

I’ve accidentally washed my fob in the laundry and it was fine. It does have a gasket type seal. I would go scuba diving with it but it will handle a dunk.

Drove to Western NC from DC and hit the first six digit milestone. Decided to to clean a little extra for this 100k anniversary. Had the tires re-balanced and rotated. TPMS cried a malfunction foul two times the following day but seems to have leveled out since.

Well it was a good run. (02/16/24 - 09/24/2024) Our truck was stolen from the spot you see here sometime yesterday morning. No broken glass, both key fobs in the house. We called made a police report and confirmed it was not towed or impounded. DC Tags VZA75 - If you're in the Mid-Atlantic area please keep an eye out. I think it is the only Pacific Blue in the area. Totally bummed out.

That really sucks. My guess is a pro theft ring. Destined for another continent. When it comes to car thieves, my impulse would be towards violence, even though I know it’s only a property crime.

Violence is sometimes the answer.

I’ve seen videos recently where current tech can easily clone our key fobs. Thieves can be outside your home and collect transmissions from key fobs and then replicate the signal at the vehicle. Allowing them to unlock and drive away as if they had the key on their person.

theft of our trucks absolutely sucks and my sympathies to the poster who's truck was stolen.

THere was a theft in Canada on the boards a couple years ago. Based on that, my key fobs now live in a faraday box . It's not ideal to have to have this by the front door, but it's what I ended up doing.

Probably will never matter . . .

I see a 1425 so assuming 14th and N? Where was this stolen from in dc?

Admittedly a VERY strange car to be stolen in dc right now…seems more targeted then youth bs that ****ed that place. Moving out of DuPont in a week. Excited to not stress about cars.

Wow. Can't remember the last time I saw a car theft that wasn't a GM product. Always tahoes/yukons/etc around here.

Sorry to hear and good luck with insurance.
