What have you done to your 200 Series this week? (28 Viewers)

Took my new-to-me 2013 LX to a well-known Houston shop for much-needed attention at 95k.

• Post-purchase inspection: No unexpected issues, everything checked out!
• Front shocks (these were leaking heavily and it was clear from the steering feedback something was not right)
• Hydraulic fluid (AHC fluid had never been changed and with the shocks, it had to be done)
• Oil change
• Transmission fluid (this was done by the previous owner at 51k and the mechanic confirmed they had only done a drain & fill and not a pump due to markings on cap(s))
• Front and rear diff fluid (this was never done!)
• Coolant
• Transfer case (was done at 51k; opted to do it while he had it)
• Outer belt tensioner replaced (was getting loose; the prior owner had mistakenly replaced the drive belt at 51k vs the tensioner)
• Alignment
• Torqued/lubed everything
• Checked battery
• Lubed steering wheel motor (it was "grinding" when turning on and positioning itself)
• Washer fluid (zero degree rainx)

Tomorrow I replace the 10-year old tires with (probably) Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 LT 285/65 R18 after picking up 2015 LC 18s from a local forum member today.

The LX drives like a different vehicle now... I thought I was maybe biased but when my wife drove it, she agreed it drives "so much smoother and seems quieter." Thanks to folks on here for pointing me to a good shop.

He is very busy so you need to book well in advance. I had a pre-purchase inspection done by Clear Choice Woodlands but they told me "we don't take off the hood covers for a PPI", which I'm thinking "what are you inspecting then???". They also won't change the transmission fluid, which after much research, I concluded is BS especially since it was changed at 51k already. They did catch the poor shocks though, which I used to negotiate $500 off the vehicle. For me, I much prefer the vibe at TEQ than Clear Choice, but they are polar opposite types of shops! : )

LC of Houston and Duggys are 2 more. Used Duggys early on in my build out and LC of Houston later. Both do good work. Price can be the determining factor.

Just to sanity check, it's possible the later model year 200s have a different rear part number? Confusing thing is they seem to overlap in model years.

85242-42030 for 2008-2016
85242-60130 for 2015-2021

Moved the spare back to the stock location. The Wilco was good to me, but reality is I don't need it right now. Method 314 17x7.5 with Yokohama geolander mt 285 75 17 fit back with no problems. Had a few pieces left over, 99% that one is a guide for the mechanism for lowering the tire....the other one im not sure. I'm guessing these weight savings will improve the MPG phenomenally. Many thanks to @achris44 for taking the time to get me everything.

Project of the morning.
I wanted to find out if I could design a slimmer cover for my smart key and then print it.

I deliberately left out the key and a flap to keep it as slim as possible.
The first test in PLA went well and next it will be printed in PET-CF.

Bit of measuring, CAD two test prints and I had two hours later some kinda final design.
Still some small details to fix but so far I am happy with.

Seen a lot of “Prinsu and Ironman 270’s don’t play nice” but when I could pick one up for less than a normal awning, had to take a shot. Fits like a glove with the rear tab on the Prinsu chopped off, trunk spoiler impinges a little on the fabric but not a deal breaker. Never had a bad time with beers and an angle grinder.

Ha! Yeah man, I’ve been all through that thread and have that size in mind for some Yoko G003s. Can’t tell from your pic but were you able to stuff that size in as a spare? That’s been my biggest concern as the G003 are 34.3”.

I was, though it's close, to be transparent. Haven't measured yet, but mine probably measure 34.5+, where some folks have seen it get tight. As a result, I deflated mine to ~15psi (run 36 on road) as I'd anticipate a higher likelihood of needing the spare offroad. Plus, my compressor is always onboard so inflating on road wouldn't be an issue. That slight inconvenience is well worth the additional function over my old 32/33's.

Stock height or front spacer lift? What size spacers you running at the wheels? Any rubbing/trimming?

I'm probably going to go with these exact tires when my 275/70 Toyo AT3s get worn out.

No wheel spacer. Just the coil spacer that levels out the front a bit.

The spacer is the leveling coil spacer. No wheel spacers. I have a very slight rub in reverse.

Moved my Baja LP9's over to the 200..
this bumper is super tight, so I reversed the brackets to push them out a bit for clearance.

Finishing up switch wiring for these and the rear Baja's

Couple of projects left to do and it's done for now... (Kaon shelf with large molle (?) and Bud Built rock Sliders).

Long time lurker, howdy everyone.
Finally got my new tires...Toyo AT3's 275/70/18. Tundra Off-Road 18'' rims (powder coated), everything stock for now.
Will be doing front sensor lift soon, got the front spacers already.
First pic is in H, second pic is in Regular/comfort mode.

Really wish I did some more research and got wider tire. The stock LX 20'' rims were 8.5'' width, these Tundras are 8'', I personally like a more flush look. Will be riding on these for awhie before I ''upgrade'' to a 9'' rim.

Eventually get my tire width back to 285's as well but for , it'll do for me.

Swapped stock 20" wheels with LC OEM wheels and Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 LT 285/65 R18 for a perfect fit (note mechanic adjusted camber a bit in anticipation but I'm unsure if it was necessary). More info and pics here. Guess I'm a minority in that I like the LC OEM wheels.

Chopped a SLEE tray for a Group 24 aux, jerry rigged a DRL bracket.

Did full ATF exchange on the ‘18. Cruiser had 80,000 miles. Looked normal for that mileage. I did an ‘06 100 series with 195,000 miles on original fluid yesterday… what a difference a full exchange made to that one. But the ‘18, well that’s just routine maintenance.

New brake pads front and back at 70k miles. Got the truck with 10k so probably first change. Rear were very thin, i mean "wafer thin sir!". Front had about 1/3 left on outside and 1/4 on inside. Original fluid went right to the max line. Next time I'll do rotors and use the Motive pressure bleeder to change the fluid. The front pads can be visually checked during tire rotation. The rears really need pulling to check. Don't let those rear pads eat metal.
