Another 5w30 synthetic oil change, 5 tire rotation and chassis/ driveline lube.

This one had 7,000 miles on it. Last oil change was august 28th.

Tires have 18, 000 miles and have worn 2/32 off the 18/32 they came with.

You’re putting some miles on it! Good trips?

What was done as far as chassis and driveline lube? Any info you can share regarding products would be helpful too.

We did have a big trip back early September. 4000+ of those miles. Great trip to Montana. Definitely needed about 10 more days.

I just lube all the grease fittings. Mostly the driveline. I use whatever grease we have in our grease gun, pretty sure it’s just normal ole chassis grease we get by the case.

I did the same weekend as the last oil change.

I’ll replace them sooner or later. They are just done.
I’ve been able to find other places to spend $700 plus recently
I polished a bunch of times then ended up waiting for one of the big sales to buy new lights. No regrets.

Plan is to polish my old ones again then clear them and sell as used.. I figure I’ll get a few hundred out of them.

The hard part will be holding the lights still while polishing when no longer attached to the vehicle..

Actually the first time I polished mine they were removed.

I used a big 7” buffer and just held the lights between my legs on a piece of old carpet.

sanding/polishing headlights is useless in my experience--only lasts a few months. I've heard that clear coat makes the fix more long-term, but my wife has a serious aversion to any sort of spray paint product. Is there any sort of vinyl wrap product that would suit the same purpose?

Interesting. We have a TSX Wagon in the fleet and a 03 RX300. I polished them 20 months ago, and did a laquer clearcoat, and they are still jewel like clear and new looking.

Well I'm guessing that's the clearcoat. I did the restore and polish without clearcoat and they looked great, but quickly went to s*** again.

What I'm wondering is if there is a vinyl-like product I can use as a last step instead of clearcoat that would be just as (or nearly as) effective? Spray paint products cause marital strife in my household.

I can't speak to 3M vinyl if that will protect it.

That said, the clearcoat I have successfully applied, is not spray, you apply it by hand, like nail polish.

Hmm, that might work. Do you know what product it was?

That is what I used. I am sure there are many others out there.

What big sale are you talking about? I need new headlights. I don't want to polish again.

See the thread about the 20% in August. It wasn’t at Serra but a number of dealers jump in on these sales. Between their usual discount and the additional 20% it ends up being something like 40% off of retail depending on the part.

I have done something bad……….sold her.😢
Sold her for this…..and wow, what a difference.
