Don't know why magnet mounts aren't a thing in radio speaker/mic world where they're still largely old school clips.

Ground off the clip and used a cell phone stick on plate with a vent magnet mount. Works perfecto.

I think some others have glued magnets to the back of the leather "wings" to the side of the center controls. And used those to attach a radio mic. I think maybe Gamiviti made a post about it.

They only work where proper seatbelt anchors attach, since that is a federally mandated 7/16-20 thread. So an example would be the upper or lower seatbelt anchor for the second or third row.

If you show exactly which one you are referring to I can get the thread size and pitch but I don’t think those eye bolts will fit a seat anchor location.

Thanks! Great info. I’m referring to these bolts left after seat removal. An eyelet would be optimal in that location for tiedowns because some of the custom cover/tiedown options are ridiculously priced for what an eyelet can do for 5 bucks.

Finally picked her back up after 3 full months in the shop. 30k+ in repairs.

Had to take back to the shop. There was a very faint ticking noise driving at low speed, honestly sounded like something was in my tire but I checked an nothing was there.

Shop thought it was a caliper and said they'd need to look it over so left it over night.

Got a call today and "the tech said your transmission is slipping in first and second gear". Trying to claim that it was caused when the oil cooler dumped all the trans fluid after my accident. Vehicle wasn't driven anywhere, but towed directly to the shop. I told them about the ECU flash for the 8 speed (but I have a 21 so unsure why it would need this).

My repair coordinator is trying to now say that they believe this is related to my accident rather than something covered under warranty. I believe they're talking straight out of their ass and told them that if it needs a new transmission, it better be covered under warranty.

Oh and they still cannot find the source of the ticking noise.

Yeah probably.

I’m away from my truck so can’t check for sure until tomorrow, but generally those silver 17mm head bolts are m12 not the SAE size needed to put the eyelet directly in.

My radiator started leaking from the usual spot. I'm replacing radiator, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, fan bearing bracket, upper and lower hoses. I had replaced the idler pulley, tensioner and belt a few months ago. I could've finished the job today but my radiator arrived in a completely unacceptable condition so I have to wait for a new one now. It also appears that the timing chain cover is leaking. I'll clean it and keep an eye on it.

I found a local toyota dealer that wouldn't pricematch internet prices, but one call to the parts manager and they found a 'discount' that was essentially a price match. Suggest getting a local radiator, the boxes are not made for shipping damage prevention.

If the one they're sending again isn't in better shape then I'll get one locally. I don't mind a few bent fins, but the one I received was actually bent on one side, apparently from a drop.

That is very common for these radiators when shipped via fedex or ups. As grinchy said, they aren't packaged for common shipping methods, only movement within toyota's parts system... and even then the packaging is probably inadequate. I picked up a radiator for a friend from the toyota parts counter and even it had damage, though it was mild enough to still use.

Definitely not inexpensive from my perspective.. especially when the mentioned harness eyelets are $7 ea.

But yes they are a really nice solution.

Not a fan of those Koan brackets, they don't cover the entire hole left when you remove the 3rd row seats. So it looks really unfinished. I'm baffled why they didn't cover the entire hole when they designed them...
