Upgraded to a group 31 with a slee tray kit

Installed bilstein 5160s in the rear
- Did not have to mess with the KDSS valves
- I did, however, have to use a come-along to get the rear lined up for the panhard

Complete 13 quart transmission fluid exchange at 100k miles.

Driveshaft zerk gods blessed me as all were lined up for a much needed lube.

If the zerks were all lined up to begin with, you need to go buy a lottery ticket.

They were. I was shocked. I don’t like crawling under the LX at all so was on my homemade cedar ramps. God forbid the truck decides to lower itself while under there it would be no bueno.

There is an off button by the shifter to prevent unanticipated leveling.

I know. There is still a chance of some sort of internal failure. While incredibly small - not worth it to me. If the truck lands on it’s bump stops - I will be stuck if not crushed.

It’s why I use 12 ton jack stands when I have to remove wheels.

It's a pretty remote possibility if the vehicle is off and static. I can't argue for more safety if you feel uncomfortable with it.

Unlike my other car which has pennies for clearance, and I exclusively use ramps and lifts to service, I love the convenience of the active suspension in the LX where I almost never use a lift unless I'm working on the suspension. Throw it in high and get under her with a creeper...plenty of clearance to work underneath.

Bought my first LC today. 2009 LC200 with 158k. Bone stock and OG mall crawler from Richmond, VA. I am looking forward to getting some upgrades to the rig for Fall trailing/camping. Any suggestions on mods would definitely take the advice. Everyone have a great weekend.
Cheers,

Congratulations! I know the exact one you bought as I was look at it myself. Nice pick up! Love to know if it had any issues after the inspection.

Appreciate it @au1994 . The inspection came back with needing front brakes and tires in near future. Which I plan on doing suspension and tire upgrades. It did have a small power steering fluid leak that I need to run down. By small, the bellows boot was slightly moist. It passed state inspections. Mechanic sd he would buy it. But at the price offer no way passing on this one. Once I get it down here I’ll have my guy take a look.
I remember you posting about the RI LC. Did that pan out?

Cheers,

Nice find, and welcome! As for mods, slap some true AT tires on there and go have fun. Do the types of outdoor stuff you’re interested in, and the needed (or wanted) mods will become apparent. These are really capable trucks right off of the lot (well the stock tires leave a lot to be desired), you might find for your use you don’t need much else. But those wants are an entirely different matter... Enjoy!

I’m still on the hunt and the one in RI is still under consideration. The seller is a standup guy and being forthright about any issues. It passed RI inspection too.

Thanks Tommy. That is my initial plan. And you are exactly right about figuring out the rest. It will become apparent the difference between wants and needs. Hahaha.

Cheers,

Ok, good luck hunting my friend. Finding one that fit my specs was SUPER TOUGH. Just make sure you are ready to pull the trigger when you find one. PPI, cash money available, etc... Keep looking you will find one.

Bought the missing trim pieces for the 2nd seat center console. Fixed then wobbly side mirrors. Got in the heritage rear cargo mat. Now I need to take the 3rd row seats out

Finally got my Gamiviti rack installed while on a 3900 mile road trip over 12 days including about 25 solid miles of offroading in CO. Also took some time to get the LC aligned as it was all over the place on the highway when hitting a mid-corner bump. The shop though I was crazy for recommending they check the alignment but the toe adjustment on both front wheels was was way off, maybe because the dealer didn't do it when they installed my larger tires? Anyway truck is way better now and I'm loving the Gamiviti rack!

Purchased it last Saturday. 2013, single owner with 44k miles in immaculate condition. found some 2016+ wheels Sunday. Dropped off at powder coat Monday. Got the windows tinted Tuesday. level lifted it weds. 1.25” wheel spacers installed Thursday. Got the wheels and new BFG KM3s installed today. 33/12.5/18. I did a little trimming and eliminated the rubbing in the mud flaps. I’m really loving this thing. What a step up from the 80 and 100s that I have owned in the past.
