Holy smokes... Just took these BudBuilt, stainless steel works of art out of their boxes and I am seriously stunned.
Never seen something like this on a street legal truck. Lots of **cool looking** skids out there, but These things are just.... wow. Real deal is an understatement. I’m talking about strength...not looks.

Photos really don’t adequately convey...
Really need to pick them up and personally inspect.
This is just one of 5 pieces:

Edit: This photo makes it appear mirror-polished. It is not. But it’s a good partial angle to let you see the quality.

Thanks BudBuilt and @Taco2Cruiser for all your help!

Those are BudBuilt right...about to put a set of those on mine. They are stout no doubt!

Few pics of tire fit with no lift 285-70-17 on method 305s ,method says 0/4.75

They rub on the bottom middle of plastic liner , where the little squat plastic thing hangs. And on the middle of rear bottom and side painted body molding on front steps , def had to remove mud flaps on front also .

At the risk of offending lots of people - I think you've got the best looking LC on the forum. That Navy/Gold/Black contrast is seriously stunning. And I HATE Method...so this is a confusing feeling for me.

What stage is that?

I honestly don’t know as no conversations with BB ever involved the term “stage ___.” Never really been aware of it since there are a zillion possible combinations one can opt for.

It’s as stout as BB makes using stainless though, as far as I’m aware.

I really do think it looks great.

Just don't want to drive behind him unless I have plywood covering my lights, hood and windshield. ;)

Looks very similar to metalcloak's undercloak skid plate system. (for different vehicles).
These 200's do need good skids.

Ya, in all honestly, most 200 wheelers don't need this stout a build.
BB makes much lighter versions of these that are still stronger than just about anything out there other than custom monstrosities. For me, though, It's just that I am bending stuff under my truck and pretty rough in general...so it makes sense in my case.

Can you weigh them before install and share the #s with us please?

The website lists the various weights of different options. If you run the entire skid group in thick steel it's 228 lbs, light steel 167 lbs, aluminum 115 lbs.

Not sure I have a good way to weigh them, but I can look up the UPS shipping weights of the 5 boxes they came in, and you’ll have a pretty good idea...minus about 10 or 12 ponds of cardboard, huge staples, etc.

Only once have I seen anything more stout, and that was seeing the crazy armor on an IED-sweep roller (for lack of knowing what they’re called) and it’s accompanying MRAP beasts rolling down a busy street in Jalalabad. Never seen something like this on a street legal truck. These things are just.... wow.

Nice purchase. Congrats. Youll feel the weight of those once installed. Just like the weight of sliders itll fade from thought. I did the stage 3 which is everything but the gas tank skid. They are extremely robust. On my front skid theres threaded holes in the truck frame that the skid attaches to. One of the threads nuts was missing on my truck for some reason so had to run a longer bolt and nut to secure it. No worries but if you run into that, theres your work around tip.
Enjoy those skids. I also placed some double sided foam tape between the over laps on the skids to kill any chatter. Didnt figure that out until after i ran HITR trail.

Ya, no doubt about weight, and thank you for the tips, @Willy beamin . You always seem to think of details. Appreciate it.

Weight wise, probably one more reason it's good I'm about to downsize to 285/75/17 tires... Should help with the added load under acceleration, etc.

Will also likely end up adding preload to my coil-overs and likely swapping rear springs yet again.
Will think about foam between layers as a precaution against chatter, if any. It's a lot of steel to keep motionless.

Anyway... Domino effect in full swing... :meh: I know you are well acquainted with that... :hillbilly:

Unfortunately this is true

I went it’s the Stage 4 which is listed at 228 pounds. Thanks for the tips @Willy beamin . I hope to be installing mine later this month.
